You either have a threading issue, or a tension issue, or both issues. Read the Article and watch the videos.

By thread tension, we mean the amount of thread that can pass through the machine to create the stitch. The more thread in the stitch, then the looser the stitch. The less thread, then the tighter the stitch. Top thread tension is controlled by a dial on the machine's thread path.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a specific manual for the Dial and Sew 750 sewing machine. However, I can give you some general instructions on how to use a sewing machine that may help you get started:

1. Threading the machine: Follow the threading guide and thread the machine correctly. Make sure that the presser foot is raised when threading the machine so that the thread can be properly tensioned.
2. Winding the bobbin: Place the thread spool on the spool pin and wind the thread onto the bobbin by following the instructions in your manual. Make sure to cut the thread once it's wound.

Needle old or bent, incorrect size. Incorrect thread for material, packed with lint. The sewing foot is not on correctly or the needle is not pushed in high enough. Old thread. Hope this helps.

Install a brand new needle and confirm it is inserted with the flat side facing the proper direction.. A bent, damaged needle will sometimes cause skipped stitches or even needle strikes inside the machine. A new needle is the least expensive cure for a lot of sewing machine problems. The needle should be changed about every 8 hours of sewing or at least when starting a new project.

Remove the top thread. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning. Verify the thread path is correct.

Sometimes, skipped stitches will occur if the needle, thread, and fabric are incompatible. Be sure to use the correct needle for your project. Use a good quality thread--AVOID old or bargain bin thread!

If the machine continues to skip stitches, then it may be out of time. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

Several things to try:
Pull thread tails (both bobbin thread and upper thread) straight back and when you lower the presser foot, make sure they are held down straight back. This may or may not be enough to solve the problem, but it is simple to try, and often works. You might want to hold the thread tails while you start sewing.
Use a starter--folded piece of fabric scrap about an inch long--and begin sewing oink middle of starter. Push the fabric you want to see right up to the starter and keep sewing from the starter right onto your project without lifting the presser foot or cutting the thread. When you finish sewing, cut the little piece of thread between the starter and your project.
Before lowering presser foot, use wheel to lower your needle once and then pull up bobbin thread to top surface of your project. Then hold both bobbin and upper thread tails, lower your presser foot, and begin sewing. Release the thread tails after a few stitches.
Hope this helps. Those nasty "thread nests" are a real pain.

you need to change the needle, if it is a little broken at the head, it's not grabbing the underthread.

Is this the first time you have used the machine? If so you need to bring up the bobbin thread by hand before stitching. Only when both bobbin and top threads are up through the needle plate nad pulled towards the back of machine, will the machine form a stitch.
