No power no power light
All of you have the same problem I have--the crazy thing won't boot up--blue lights but a dead, black screen. I've also had problems with the laptop becoming really hot. I've "resolved" these two issues by 1) setting the computer to never turn off. This works great until an auto-update of some program or other is necessary, usually in the middle of the night, and then a restart of the computer is necessary for the laptop to acknowledge the update. 2) When you turn on the laptop and all you get is blue lights on the keyboard, try this: Hold the power button on until the laptop turns off. Count to twenty and then holding the base of the laptop with both hands, turn it on its left side as you're holding it in the air, with the keyboard vertical instead of horizontal. While holding it in this position, push the power button. 99% of the time this will restart this crazy computer. I wonder if it's some kind of problem with the motherboard, but I am afraid to tinker with it. 3) Get yourself a laptop fan to help draw off the excessive heat so you don't cook your laptop. These HP model is prone to overheating and other issues, so we all have to band together to help one another overcome all its idiosyncracies. While all this is not a solution, it'll at least help you limp along until you can come up with a better answer. What have you got to lose at this point?
