Question about Sunbeam 2351 Legacy Stand Mixer
My mom sucked up a bunch of marshmellows in the power head and want to know how to get the handle off to disasemble? Thank you so much.
Hi MITCH, Happy New Year! Somebody at Sunbeam must have been asleep when the mixer passed by on the production line...duh? I hate when that happens. The good news is that you can download a PDF Users Manual from the Sunbeam website. Just click on this link Heritage Series 2353 Mixmaster and look for your M-I-L’s model to about ½-way down the page. Open the file and save it to your PC.
I’m not very keen with the way Sunbeam lays out their User’s Manuals. You’ll need to do some editing and repaginating to get it into a format that your M-I-L- can use, but at least you’ll have it. You can send it to her electronically or print just the English pages and mail; your choice.
Good Luck. I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA

It may be a mechanical problem and it may be a problem with the small circuit board inside the machine. In order to inspect the mechanism, remove screw #23 and then remove the cover #24. Look for a spring item #4, which will be attached to the bottom of the control plate assembly, item #28. If it is not there then the plate will not return to the slow position.
Try moving the speed control knob abd watch the action of the speed control plate. It should move freely in and out. If not then check for binding and/or loose screws.
If all the above is OK then the problem is most likely the phase control board item #30. It can be purchased online for around $15 and is fairly easy to replace.

Sunbeam does not make any internal parts for your mixer or any other new mixer they sell. Almost all of their products are now made in China and there are no parts available except beaters. I do not think that your problem is in the beaters. There are some plastic gears in the head and they strip easily. Isn't it nice that you have to toss the entire mixer just because they don't make a $2 gear. If your mixer is still under warranty, click here to find out www.sunbeam.com/ and type in the date code on the mixer and see if it is still covered. If it is you can send it to them and get a replacement.
Good Luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.
