I have multiple DISH Network 311 DTV Receivers in my house and I have a problem with one of them even if I swap it out with one that works. The problem is that when I plug it in, it goes through the 5 steps of powering up and it hangs on step 5. I have tried several times and it always hangs on step 5. I have tried to reset it but it always stops on step 5.

Yes they are able to work with the internal and external smart cards. The internal is not really a card at all and is over ridden by the external device. In order to get the new smartcard to operate you need to follow the instructions that came with it. In some cases you may need to call dish and have them associate the new smartcard with the receiver and have it forced through on their end. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

It just our of the blue said that "our smart card

If you are still receiving this error message try removing the smart card from the receiver for 10 seconds and re-insert firmly with the color side up and arrows facing inward.

If that doesn't resolve the issue you will likely need a receiver replacement.

Getting an error code 311, dish says its the hard drive and i have lost everything help

Hello! Daniel Busa here with Dish Network's customer service department. If you're getting the 311 message this is most likely an indication your hard drive is bad. Try unplugging it for ten seconds if it persists you may need a replacement. If it does persist I will send a replacement please e-mail me at : [email protected]

My 311 is connected to a dish 100.2. It has worked fine for a while. A few days ago it lost signal. I ran a swith check and it said there was fewer satilites than normal. Well I checked out the dish and it...

firerun1,

When you get the message 836, found fewer satellites than previously detected, it usually indicates a problem with a component between the dish and receiver. Normally a tech needs to be sent out to find the problem and to fix it.

Depending on the number of receivers you have active on your account, you may have a loose cable to that receiver if other receivers are working okay. If you have a switch between the dish and receiver, a port on the switch may be bad. If this is occurring on all your receivers, you'll need to call Customer Service to setup a Tech visit.

I hope this helps.

DN receiver wont stay on.

It's best to troubleshoot with a technician over the phone to actually try things, but it does sound like this receiver is no good. If that's the case and it's leased, you can contact Dish Network and get a replacement at no cost, just pay for the shipping (unless you have Dish Home Protection Plan - then it's free).

TV ''Dish'' not working on second TV

check sat in cable, if cracks or breaks in line can cause sfss. also on back of receiver you want to make sure that sat in cable has a little copper wire sticking straight up and that its getting a good connection on the back of the receiver.
