SOURCE: Ruud Gas Hot Water Heater Shuts Off

If this is a hot water heating system for home heating It may be thermocouple of flame sensor. If it has a sensor rod in the flame check and make sure flame is hitting it. Also a little sand cloth to polish it may do the trick. I have to due this to my gas furnace sensor every couple of years. If this unit has a pilot light and it is weak and yellow verses strong and blue it may need cleaned. Some times you can tap on it while it is burning and it will dislodge plug. If it A domestic hot water heater for washing and such the above still holds true. If polit is strong and hitting thermocouple then replace thermocouple.

SOURCE: Ruud gas pack cuts off after a short heating

burners could be rusted blocking gas from getting across , so it pockets up and ignites all at once ,there also could be a partial blockage in heat exchanger but this is unlikely, or more seriously the heatexchanger could be rusted out with large holes in it so when blower comes on the positive pressure pushes flame back. either way when the roll out switch is tripped it indicates a pretty serious and potentially harmful issue that should be inspected and diagnosed by a reputible company.

Furnace runs to temp but wont restart on it's own

It sounds like your furnace one of two things..... once reset, it could be running up to an overtemp condition and is tripping the high temperature limit switch. This typically locks on the blower and the inducer fan and locks out the gas control until the circuit is reset, then it does it all over again. Dirty filter or dirty evaporator coil restricting air flow is a typical culprit.

The other thing could be a tiny bit of oxidation INSIDE the barbed port of the inducer fan where the pressure switch tube slides on. This could be causing either a restriction or a blockage of the positive or negative air pressure required to close a pressure switch when the inducer starts. This will result in a normal sequence up until the gas valve needs to open.

Neither of these suggestions are specifically typical to what you describe, but are two good things to check considering the numbers of parts already installed.

Will not turn off on auto?

There are certain faults like "Flame Rollout" and "High Temp Cut-out" that will cause the fan to run continuously until corrected. If the furnace is working then some power is making it to the "G" terminal at the circuit board. Could be a jumper or miswiring.
