I don't believe that this is a problem related to your hard disk. It sounds to me like you've got either a short or a loose connection somewhere inside your notebook.
You (or a qualified technician) need to open up the notebook and check all of the connections and look for worn or frayed wires and cables.

- If you're not 100% sure about opening it up yourself, I would take it somewhere. I would only take it to HP if it is still under warranty. If not, find a reputable computer repair service in your area, you'll save a lot of money and most likely a lot of time as well.

the display sometimes blends the moitor colors together and cursor locksup and i can sometime press across the top of the screen and it will corect itself and then other times it dosent. Wasnt told might be a loose connection. Was wondering how to check for a loose connection. Which screws on the bottom keep me from openning upi and check on the inside.
