Question about Dell Studio 1537 Laptop
I format my laptop and when i try to connect to the internet it didnt show any intenet connection so i try to conected directly but it didnt work
Try installing the LAN and wireless drivers.
You can download the LAN, Wireless and device drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Tag label is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where the specific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you select the Windows of the drivers for your Windows operating system. Click on this link to download the drivers: -

Some questions before we get started: -What operating system are you running? -Are you using DSL, cable or dial-up for Internet access? -If you?re using DSL or cable are you plugging your laptop directly into the Internet provider?s box? What is the manufacturer and model of it? -Have you tested your Internet connection to make sure its working? If it?s a phone line can you dial out, if its DSL or cable try connecting another computer to it. -When you plug your Internet cable into your PC does anything appear or change on your screen? Once you give us some more information to work with we can start figuring out what is going on.

How far did U move? Do You need to change the dailer settings in the routers config?
To verify your hardware connectivity you can click: Start/Run/CMD to open a DOS prompt. Then type IPCONFIG /all and see the TCP/IP information for all connected NIC's

SOURCE: Cant connect to the internet.
Click on Start and type CMD. Open CMD and type ipconfig. Check out the IP address V4 for the Local area ethernet adapter or wireless area adpater depending on wireless or wired connection. Any ip address other than of the class 169.254.x.x shoud be considered good. If you have an IP address is any other number other than the above you have a good IP address. to test the internet connectivity type PING www.google.com. If the results are Packets sent 4 Recieved 4 Lost 0 then the issue could be due to Internet Explorer bing corrupt or a firewall blocking the internet access. Power off the computer. Power on the system and as soon as you see the Dell logo please tap the F8 button 3 - 4 times. You'll get to teh Advanced Windows boot option screen. Select safe mode with networking and see if the internet works in the safe mode. If yes then it could be the firewall. Uninstall you antivirus and check.

The wireless modem you are connecting to is protected with a WEP key. You have to get the WEP key or find another wifi hotspot that is not protected.
You can also get a better antenna for your laptop to see if you can pull in another site.
