Hello! I want to make my Philips DVP3350V/01 player so it can take Region 1 DVDs. How do I do?

First you have to download linked file called "LG36868.IMG"

http://rapidshare.com/files/14530611/Zoran.zip.html

1. Then you have to burn this file to a blank CD
(The file "LG36868.IMG" is NOT an image file!. Just use
Nero or any of your CD burning programs to write this
file on a CD.

2. After burning, insert the CD into the DVD player and press play

3. Then the region management menu will be shown.

4. Input "0" to make it multi-region and then press the "pause" key by
Remote Control.

Enjoy, your DVD is region free!

I have tried downloading from the samsung website lastest firmware update, which is an iso file when extracted it saves it to disc as a xuf file and the blu ray wont read this what am i doing wrong??

Read the Upgrade Guide (PDF) for instructions on how to do this. It says to burn a CD. The ZIP file extracts to ISO type. The guide tells you what format it needs.

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/search/supportSearchModelResult.do?menu=SP00&searchWord=bdp1400&searchInputBox=bd-p1400&find_button=

READ the PDF file under Upgrade Guide. Make sure you designate the proper file type when burning CD. Check your burning software.

How to make a firmware update CD
Please follow the below procedures.
1 Download the new firmware file from www.samsung.com
2 If the firmware file is compressed (*.zip), the file should be uncompressed to CD image file
(*.iso).
3 Please burn the CD image file on a blank CD-R/RW disc
1) Recommended CD Burning Program is Nero Burning ROM.
2) Burning Options (in case of using Nero Burning ROM)
A. ‘Recorder’ menu ?? ‘Burn Image…’ ?? Select an uncompressed image file(*.iso)
B. Please check ‘Finalize CD (No further writhing possible!)’
C. Please refer to your own CD burning Program Manual if you want to use any other
CD burning program for burning ISO image file.
D. Make sure if the downloaded software is eligible for your BD-P1400.
E. The System Upgrade will not be executed if using the update CD made with NOT
following the upper procedures.
Warning
The following events may interrupt the upgrade process and MAY RESULT IN PERMANENT
DAMAGE TO THE UNIT WHILE UPGRADING.
1. Unplugging the power plug
2. Power outage
3. Dirt or scratches on the burned CD-R/RW disc
4. Closing or opening a disc tray during update processing
How to upgrade the BD-P1400
1. Press OPEN/CLOSE button to open the disc tray.
2. Insert the upgrade CD.
3. Press OPEN/CLOSE button to close the disc tray.
4. Please wait about 6 minutes while verifying.
Verifying Firmware Version.
5. When below message box comes up, please check the date of the Firmware version.
Do you want to update Firmware?
>Current Version : 070730.02_XAA
>New Version : 070903.01_XAA
Yes No
6. Press ‘Enter’ button to choose ‘Yes’ for upgrade and please remove the disc on the tray.
If you select ‘No’, BD-P1400 will be automatically powered off.
If you don’t see above message box, try another disc. Generally, this is caused by disc
quality or a disc creation problem.
7. Please wait for about 7 minutes.
Firmware Update.
Now, Processing…
Please, do not turn off the power.
8. When finished, the screen and the power will turn off automatically.

Each CD burning program assigns the burning device by the Windows name.

Burning CD-R

Windows Xp don't have its own CD burner. if you mean Roxio, that is 3 party CD burner.
try a different CD. some time the CD burner detect some smudge at the beginning area, then it tell you the CD is NG.
Try to clean the CD with CD cleaner and clean the CD also.

Some time I have to go through 2-3 CD in order to find one that will work.

I'd like to know how to retrive the trailers that i've downloaded

Depending on what files you want to burn to CD. If it is just Data then insert a blank CD and open with nero, choose burn data cd. In the window that comes up next browse your computer for the files that you want to burn, then click on add, once you have added all of the files that you want to burn click finished. Another window will come up with the option to name the cd and for you to decide on whether this cd will be for use with your computer only or with all/most cd players you should also be given the choice as to whether or not you want to make the cd a multi session cd (meaning that you can add more data to it at a later time, please note though that if you do add more data to the cd at a later date do not rename the cd otherwise it will not work.) Once you have chosen your desired options then click on burn to burn the cd.

If you are not sure where your downloaded files have been saved then run a search in windows for the files and make a note of where they are.

I hope this helps

How do I burn a CD with my pictures, then show them on my computer? Can and how do I delete the pictures on the computer?

Your question was not quite clear "then show them on my computer"

1.) You can use a third program software like nero.
To use nero, you have to "purchase" it first, then install nero, then open "Nero burning ROM" application usually either under
"program files\Ahead\Nero\Nero Burning Rom\nero.exe"
or
Program Files\Nero\...\Nero Burning Rom\Nero.exe

Select the option CD-ROM Iso, then select multi session(if you want to add pictures later) or no multisession (if you dont want to add pictures later)::: For example, your CD takes abour 700MB of data, but you only have 10 pictures @ 30MB or so then you most likely to use multisession.::: Then click on the "new" button to start compiling your cd.

Then you can add your files into your compilation. You can give your CD a name by either double clicking on the little disk icon to your right in the first nero and changing the name OR by selecting "File" from the menu, then selecting the "Compilation properties" option, then click on the "Label" tab, and change your cd's name there.

All you have to do now, after you have given your cd a name and added files to the compilation is to find and click on the "burn" icon located in the nero bar below the "file, edit, new menus".

2.)If you have installed nero, you can also use Nero smart start 2 complile your CD. Benefis: Much quicker and easier to use.
