HOW AND WHERE TO ADJUST THE OILER ON THE 240 HUSQVARNA

The Husqvarna 240 does not have an adjustable oiler. Always use good quality bar and chain lube, never motor oil.

I have a1640 partner and the oiler pump does not pump out oil when in use. I cleaned the saw and I have lost the cap which fits on the end of the plunger of the oil pump

Hi allanpriest...

Forget the auto oiler...use a handheld oil gun to lube the chain on your saw...just lube the chain approx. every 2 - 4 minutes of use

I need to know the oil gas ratio, and about chain

Hi ccollins529...
Normally a 50 to 1 mixture is fine...1 pint 2 cycle oil to 6 gallons of gasoline.
Use "bar and chain" oil on the bar, this is an oil blended for the chain and bar.
If yours has an auto oiler you will put the oil in the bar/chain oil container.
If you do not have an auto oiler, use a hand oiler to lube the chain when needed.

Brand new poulan pro 4620avx--bar oil is coming out of oiler but not getting onto chain

Hello. Thin your bar oil just a wee bit with some kerosene. If you have a gallon of bar oil add 1/4 cup of kerosene, stir it up and you will be fine. For starters also, directly apply some bar oil to the chain so that you are always using a well lubed chain. Joe

Doesthis thing need oil or some other liquid type

The bar and chain require bar oil (only) to be placed in the capped tank. The motor itself is air cooled, and should be blown out with compressed air often to remove the accumulated sawdust. Make sure the chain is tightened just enough to prevent the lower part of the chain from drooping from the bar and can be turned by hand. Make sure to keep the chain teeth sharp by properly filing for best cutting. Test the chain oil pump operation by running the saw with the chain tip near a piece of cardboard--it should throw off a thin line of oil after a moment or two of running. Hope this helps!

Chain oiler not working properly

If it pumps then quits perhaps the tank vent is plugged. When it quits roll the saw, loosen;;; then tighten the oil cap. If it no better post back (below) with a model and serial number and we will analyze your oil system. If it works post back with numbers and I can at least provide a link to your exploded parts list.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. Thank you for using FixYa and Good Luck. HTH

What is the most likely cause of oiler not working

Several causes exist. Most likely are:
1) Clogged oil-hole in bar.
2) Clogged strainer in oil tank. (part # 530056533)
3) Unhooked pickup hose in oil tank. (part # 530038373)
4) Faulty oil pump. (part # 530071259)

Of course, check oil level and use proper bar&chain lube.

Hope this helps,
Dolf-

Husqvarna chainsaw 440e - enough chain lube?

That seems low to me. Page 15 in your manual is the only oil discussion I found. Usually there is an oil pump adjustment reference somewhere. I didn't see one beyond return it for service on page 15. Are the chain and bar hot after cutting a while? I recommend you not get a longer bar without an oiler adjustment. I think the hand of the EPA has been here.

An IPL (exploded parts list) for a 440 can be found here:
http://weborder.husqvarna.com/order_static/doc/USA/2009/I09000/I0901018.pdf
There is no oiler adjuster listed. HTH

Might be a good idea to copy the IPL,
