Question about AO Smith A O Smith Motors A O Smith 3/4hp 115/230v Square Flange Motor - Sq1072

Will not turn on, on switch not making contact sound

When I depress the on switch, there is no sound and motor not coming on. When the tub was installed, they did not leave an access door to the motor. Can the switch be checked from the top? Does the housing come off from the top? Thank you.

First of all we need to determine what kind of pump you are talking about.
A Bath Pump will have an air switch located inside the motor compartment that the air tubing from the on switch is located.
That switch could be bad.

Jacuzzi tub will not turn on button will not click on as usual

Your problem is most likely NOT the air button but the switch in the motor.
Air Switch Repair
It sounds like you have a bad air switch located in your motor.
The air switch is what the air hose connects to on the back of the motor or on the box on top of the motor. The other end of the air hose is connected to the air button on the lip of the tub.
This is a latching air switch and when you push the air button it latches to send power to the motor. When the air button is pushed again it opens the latch in the air switch and stops power going to the motor shutting it off.

Jacuzzi tub motor

Sounds to me like the switch is bad. I would have a plumbing or electrician come out and check the controls to see if they are working and double check the motor to make sure it is not the problem.

I have a jetted tub and it won't turn off. I have a single button in the back right corner and i don't know what to do!

Right now you are having to turn it on/off by using the circuit breaker or just unplugging the pump right?
Is this a button you depress or an electric button like you would find on a microwave?
If it is a button you depress to turn it on/off then the problem is most likely the air switch located in the motor under the skirt of the tub.
If it is an electric button then it may be the control box under the tub that needs to be replaced.

Unable to turn on

First, make sure the circuit breaker is on and there is power to the motor.
If you have power to the motor it may be that the air switch on the motor is not working and needs to be changed.
The air switch is around $21 to replace.

When you depress the air presure butoon on the kohler whirpool tub a clicking sound is heard but the motor does not run. There nis powewr to the receptacle that the pump/motor is connected to.

What you need is a new air switch for the back of the motor. The air tubing connects to it on the motor. that is probably what is clicking when you push the air button on the top of the tub. Once you change that air switch you will be back in HOT WATER !!
Should be a TBS-310 or TBS-301 latching air switch is the one you need. Either of those models will work in a Kohler pump.

Whirlpool-spin cycle will not work

hi,

could be either the safety switch at the lid broke off or the plastic motor mount ujoint broke, they are both replaceable. have to study it. first open the lid and try and depress the safety switch, it should click. if it doesent thats it. if its the plastic motor part, the motor has to come off and a new plastic u joint goes in there, pretty easy fix, be careful and take time.

Frgidaire Tumble action washer

because of the grinding noise your talking about it sounds like the motor bearings are bad which would require motor replacement. but, thats normally not what cause the " not completly turning problem" your having. general thats cause be the motor speed control not sending the proper power to the motor. remove the belt and turn the motor by itself to see if the noise is really come from the motor and not the back of the tub. if it is the motor, replace the motor. if it coming from the back of the tub the replace the motor speed control. the noise coming from the back of the tub would just be the ball bearings and they do make some noise on this model but you wont hear it when the washer is running
