SOURCE: Vizio VX32L image distorts on edges like looking in a metal bowl.

I had a similar issue. Realized that the TV's "WIDE" setting was changed from "Wide" to "Panaramic". It was this panaramic setting that was causing the distortion on both sides of the screen. I had to switch it back to "Wide" using the "Wide" button on the remote to toggle back to "Wide" setting. Once I put it back to "Wide", problem went away. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Powers on but no video display

I think I have a similar problem. The screen lights up, but I have thin vertical lines, mostly washout out by white toward the top. However, I can hear the TV programs even as I surf up and down through my channels.. If I change inputs, it seems to cycle through each mode, and I am able to get back to the TV input, but the display does not change.

    I have a samsung ln40d630m3f sound but no picture. Any ideas?

    HDMI or? Depending on what input your using i would say check and even swap the cables. I had a few come through for repair that ended up just being bad HDMI cables that were passing audio but not video.

    If thats not it, and none of the inputs work, also try going to the antenna or cable input if your not using those even if nothing is connected to the coaxial input just to see if you can get snow or a blue screen saying no signal, then i would suspect you have another failure inside. Could be a power supply issue but that generally affects video and sound, could be a bad backlight inverter, the picture is actually there but you can't see it. Try a really bright flashlight, get up close and shine it on the screen at an angle and see if you can see a picture there thats just really dark. Sometimes the backlight inverter fails and the tv is working fine otherwise.

    How do I find the right channel to set my tv on so it will receive cable tv

    If it is a cable box and you are connecting via coaxial cable using the rf converter in the box it is usually channel 3-4 but it can often be switched. If it is a satellite box it may use a high channel number like 73. Keep in mind that there is a traditional tuner and a digital tuner in your tv set so you made need to connect the cable and then do a channel setup for it to sense the active channel.

    The image quality is best when the cable box is connected in this order from poorest to best; coaxial cable, rca cables (red,white,yellow), s-video (on older televisions), component video and optical audio using the three yellow, blue, green cables for video and a white or red for audio or optical input, DVI, or the best, HDMI with support for 1080p and audio. On your TV you should use an HDMI cable and simply change the Input or source button to that. The HDMI cable integrates video and sound and it will transmit a dolby surround signal to your TV just as a separate optical connection will.

    Researching your monitor specifications, it has a native resolution of 1920x1080 so the setting you are running should work.

    Have you tried the other HDMI port on the monitor? It has to inputs and it is possible that the current port is causing the reported issue.

    Another option is to get a DVI to HDMI adapter OR use a DVI cable with your graphics card to see if that corrects the issue. It is possible that the HDMI inputs are going bad and using a different input could resolve the issue. Both DVI and HDMI are digital inputs so you should not see any quality differences between the two connections.

    The final check would be to connect your PC to another HDMI enabled screen (another monitor or TV) and see if the resetting continues on a different screen. If the problem occurs on a different display, you will likely have to download and install the latest video drivers for your card.

    Hope this helps.

    VX37L Screen Suddenly Went Blank, Now No Image, Sound Only on Cable Input, VIZIO Logo Lights Up

    turn on the set, grab a bright flash light and dim the lights in the room. Shine the flash light on the screen, if you see a faint picture on the screen, you are dealing with a backlight problem. There are several things that can cause this. One, a bad backlight inverter, two, faulty 24vdc power supply, three, bad main board, or a bad faulty backlamp.

    Give me properly installation of stand alone dvr with computer all window how sport the dvr send me properly anstallation of standalone dvr

    Take one co-axial cable, and connect the "input" port to your cable-company's wall-port.

    Look at the connectors on the back of your TV. You could have:
    * coaxial input (lowest video-quality)
    * S-Video input (better video-quality)
    * component input - three cables for video, two cables for audio (better video-quality)
    * HDMI input (highest video-quality)

    Look at the connectors on the "output" side of the PVR. You could have:
    * coaxial output (lowest video-quality)
    * S-Video output (better video-quality)
    * component output - three cables for video, two cables for audio (better video-quality)
    * HDMI output (highest video-quality)

    Connect the "outputs" to the "inputs", using appropriate cables.

    Turn the PVR on. Turn the TV on.

    Use the "source" button on the TV's remote-control to select from the various inputs
    (Coax, S-Video, Component, HDMI1, HDMI2).

    If your TV has 'PIP' ("Picture-In-Picture") capability, connect more than one output to a second input, so that both tuners inside your TV will receive a signal.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>- --> Troubleshooting: Image Quality for Cameras trnsp.gif Detailed Description This article covers some standard troubleshooting for issues such as fuzzy, grainy, out-of-focus or off-color camera images. trnsp.gif Answer The information in this article applies to the following software
    QuickCam 9.x and below
    ImageStudio 7.x and below
    Many factors can affect the image quality of your pictures. If you are experiencing blurry images, please try adjusting the focus ring located around the lens. This will allow you to focus the camera image on objects at different distances. Also, make sure there is good lighting. Improving the lighting conditions can improve the image quality considerably.
    Connection Issues:
    If the image quality is poor while transmitting video over the Internet using video enabled programs such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo! or AOL Instant Messenger, your connection speed to the Internet directly affects the image quality of the transmitted video. Corporate LAN, DSL/cable modem connections will result in the best image quality experience, while dial-up connections may result in choppy and overall poor quality because of the slower connection speed. Even broadband connections such as DSL/cable modem may experience choppy video at times because of Internet traffic or slow upload speeds. If the image appears clearly in the camera software, most likely your Internet connection may be responsible for the poor image quality in your video program.
    Changing Display Adapter Settings:
    If you are still experiencing a distorted, fuzzy or grainy image, you may need to change the settings for your display adapter. For optimal image quality, please make sure the video display adapter is set to display at least 16-bit high color or higher. To change the color palette please perform the following steps:
    1. Click on "Start," "Settings," and "Control Panel."
    2. Double-click on the Display icon.
    3. Click on the tab labeled Settings.
    4. In the dialog box labeled Color Palette, verify the video mode is set to 16-bit (high color) or 24-bit (true color).
    5. Also, check with the manufacturer of the video card for updated video drivers.
    Low Light Boost:
    If you cannot do anything to improve the lighting situation, some Logitech video cameras have an option for "Low Light Boost." If there is an option for "Low Light Boost," try enabling the "Low Light Boost" in the QuickCam software. To do this:
    1. Open the QuickCam software.
    2. At the bottom right hand corner of the camera image box, click on the arrow next to the QuickCam icon.
    3. Choose "Advanced Camera Settings".
    4. Under the Image Enhancement box, place a check mark in the "Low Light Boost" option.
    5. If that does not improve the image quality, try adjusting the other image settings, such as contrast, saturation brightness, gain and white balance.
    6. Click OK when your are done.
