SOURCE: can i put 2x2gb ram in k9vgm-v motherboard

It should specs say:
• Supports Dual DDR II 533/667/800
- 2 DDRII DIMMs (240pin / 1.8V)
- Supports a maximum memory size up to 2GB.
Most systems will pick up the 4GB, but Windows 32Bit has a 3GB limitation.

Using the above MSI Support website for your motherboard, I want you to find the answer.

Then I want you to come back here, and tell me how you found the answer.

EVEN if you are not sure, post what you think the answer should be.

Then I will tell you if your answer is right, or not; and why it is, or isn't.

!O_O!
How weird is this?

Once I feel you have the correct answer, and the knowledge of how to find it, then I will have accomplished something that will last for your lifetime, and not just post a solution; and you just take it for granted that I am correct.

This way you will know if I am right, or wrong. You can also tell anyone else in the world; what you base your answer on, and the facts to support it.

You will be helping yourself, and possibly someone in the future who may need the information from you.

This knowledge will also expand on what CPU's (Processors) are supported, and graphics cards.

Also time travel..........

(NO! You gonna' believe that last one?........Sheesh!)

you cannot upgrade it since it is a socket 478 board (Intel 845), the highest you can go is a 2.6Ghz Pentium 4 (I have one somewhere I think). You can upgrade the memory if you can find the stick for it (DDR1 266Mhz).

HOW MUCH GB RAM SHOULD I BUY FOR MY D915GLVG WITH 32 BIT OS XP KINDLY GUIDE ME ( for example: 4X1gb or 3X1 gb or 2X1gb or 2X2gb ?) -Gk.Schiva

If your are just using windows xp with 32 bit operating system, 2 X1 gb would be enough... your pc will not be able to utilize the memory if you go beyond 2 gb in a 32 bit operating system..

Hope this helps...

Have a QAN #6278641 mother board with two 256MB DDR ram cards. Wonder what i can up the RAM to?

You can install 4GB Sticks but I would not drop the money unless you really need that. I would recommend putting in 2x1GB sticks or possibly 1GB and a 2GB if you really need the power. Any past that needs a 64bit processor. you can also always just go cheap and put in another 256MB, or two 512MB OR just one 512 for a kick.

RE: mother board not going on

Hi marlonvig, what type of memory (PC3200? or PC2700) memory are you using? What type in which slot?

The decription (In you're manual), refering to you're memory can be confusing.
You're manual says you can use up to 1GB of
PC3200 DDR400MHz only in Slot 1.
If you add DDR400MHz into slot 2. The board will not support it. (weird)!
If you want to reach 2GB of memory. You must use PC2700 (DDR333)MHz. 2x1GB PC2700 = 1GB DIMMS in both DIMM 1 & 2. You're board does not support DDR2 type memory.

Need you're manual? Download it from this link. Click on it.
