Question about Freezers
My Siemens KA62DV40 fridge/freezer developed a problem about 18 months ago when the ice/water dispenser began to spit out ice/water onto the kitchen floor without warning, accompanied by various random beeps. The display panel would also 'lock' and change temperature by by itself. The problem was temporarily solved under warranty by the replacement of various control panels, but resurfaced about two months ago. Again, the problem was fixed temporarily by replacement of the dispenser unit and all the electronics boards. It started to go crazy again last week. Although I am still under warranty I'm wondering if I should ask them to replace the fridge itself as I've lost confidence it can be repaired. Does anyone have any idea if this is a common problem or what the source might be if not the electronics?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

First make sure you have a good 9v battery installed. If it is ok then the problem will probably be in the display board or the wiring connectors between the boards. CE is communication error. If your model has the electronic tempature control instead of mechanical thermostat the problem could be in there. My bet is a bad connection at display board.

This bacteria (for most of us) is not harmful. Ive never heard of anyone becoming sick from this stuff but I suppose someone might have an allergy. I see it in Ice Machines that are in restaurants all the time. It seems more prevalent in ones that do a lot of baking where yeast or Bread is used a lot like Bakeries Pizza and Hamburger fast foods...places.
Do you store a bread doe in your refrigerator? The air communicates with the freezer air. This is how its transferred. Clean the reddish stuff out again. Clean and wipe the outer containers and the walls and ceiling and under crisper in the refrigerator. Then if your going to store anything that you use with yeast or other types of activator that puts off CO2 (I E Baking soda or power?) double bag it in plastic bags. See if this solves your problem. If the stuff comes back it must be in your water supply. Are you on a treated water supply?
Hope this helps if so please rate me accordingly and good luck.

No solution but just a warning. We had this same thing happen. They sent a repairman to replace the control board. Then did it again. Just before Christmas, the WATER started dispensing by itself. Luckily, I was nearby and heard it or the damage would have been extensive from flooding. They are now 'working on' getting a response from Thermador. I feel like this thing is just a homeowners claim waiting to happen.
