Can't connect Wii. WEP key is correct.

I have tried to connect my Wii console and keep getting 51330 error message. I have double checked the WEP key and it is correct.

It was working in the past but I will check the WEP strength.

That error code means that you have it on the wrong setting. Don't believe me? Then go to Nintendo.com

Either your internet provider does not support the wii or vice versa. another possible problem is that you have the WEP strength set wrong. IE: having 64 bit and treating it as 128 bit.

  • Anonymous Mar 16, 2009

if all else fails you may want to turn your WEP security off when attempting to use the Wii then turn it back on after.

I am trying to connect Netflix to my Wii and I keep getting error code 51330 and 51331. I don't know what these errors are. I am trying to set up with wireless internet.

From Nintendo:
Error Code 51330, 51331, and 51332
It appears that the wireless security pass code for your home network may have been changed or is entered incorrectly on the Wii console. Click here for more information about WEP and WPA security, including how to access the settings for your Access Point.
If your wireless network password isn't wrong, reply. Hope this helps somewhat.

I keep getting error code: 51330 when trying to connect wirelessly to the internet.

This was the information on error code 51330 on Nintendo.com

Error Code: 51330
Unable to connect to your wireless network

Likely cause: It appears that the password (also known as a WPA or WEP key) entered into the Wii console is not the same as what your wireless router is set to allow.

How to fix: Make sure the password is entered into the Wii exactly as it appears in your router's settings. Security keys are case sensitive.

Don't know how to find your router's password?

Look for a sticker on the bottom of your router. Many routers provided by Internet service providers have their default password located on a sticker on the bottom of the router.

I have an error coming up on my screen for the wii saying unable to connect to the internet error 51330

The error 51330 normally means that the password or WEP key you entered to connect to the internet through the Wii did not match the one the wireless router needs to allow connection.
If you don't know the password, check to bottom of your router, it will usually have a sticker on the bottom with the standard password on it. This can also be marked as WEP key or WPA key. Enter that password exactly as it appears there, as it is case sensitive. If the password is correct and the problem still exists, try turning your router off, waiting 30 seconds to a minute, then turning it back on. Let it set itself up again, this will usually take a minute or two, then try connecting your Wii to the internet again. If the problem continues, try altering your routers wireless channel setting. As most routers work on channel 6 by default, there could be interference. This process is different for each router.

Hello, I'm trying to connect my wii wireless and it keeps giving me an error code 51330 "unable to connect to the Internet" could you tell me what it means? Thank you.

Error Code: 51330
This error code usually indicates a problem relating to wireless security. Please try the following troubleshooting:
Are you using WEP or WPA security on your router?
  • Log into the router using the default IP (consult your router's manual for assistance)
  • Locate the "wireless security" section of your router settings and find the WEP or WPA key.
  • If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.
  • If you are using 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 26-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.
  • The WEP Key must be a Hexadecimal (0-9, A-F, no other special characters or letters).
  • If your router has multiple slots for a WEP Key, make sure the active key is the one in the #1 slot.
  • If you are using WPA, the Wii console is compatible with the following types:
  1. WPA - PSK (TKIP)
  2. WPA - PSK (AES)
  3. WPA2 - PSK (AES)
But if the above information doesn't help correct this problem, then give a call to Nintendo's 1-800-255-3700 (6 am ~ 7 pm Pacific, everyday)

We cant connect our wii to the internet.. Error code 51330 keeps coming on please help

It appears that the security settings entered into the Wii console are not the same as what your wireless router is set to allow.
Make sure the security key and security type are entered into the Wii exactly as they appear in your router's settings.

Once you have entered the correct WEP or WPA key into your system, try the connection test again. If the problem persists, keep reading this page.
  • Security keys are case-sensitive.
  • WEP keys contain numbers 0 through 9, and only letters A through F.
