Unfortunately there's really not telling what the cause could be if there are a lot of aftermarket components installed. Could be messed up wiring from being tampered with, maybe a faulty remote start system if equipped, possibly a bad MAF sensor. The only thing I can recommend is to contact the person you got the car from and see if they have any of the factory take offs from when they did all of the mods. If not, you'll have to go to the dealer. Wish I could help more...

I have a 2002 subaru Impreza with the power light flashing and transmission acting frantically which affects the steering of the car, stop switch off and start back and it fine until it does it again.

There are codes. You would have to have them read when it happens. And not to shut off the car until the codes are read. I would bet the codes would all be U codes, lost communications. Caused by a bad ground wire. Your main three are the battery to engine, battery to body and engine to body.

1994 subaru wrx

There's several ways to improve engine performance.
You can change internal engine parts(crankshaft, camshaft, piston, rods, valves, gasket, block) the air intake(filter, piping) the exhaust, turbocharging (although i don't know how good it would be since it is an aspirated engine) and there are more.
This is something that requires money, time and expertise.
You can do some of the modifications by yourself, you can start by upgrading your air intake, but other modifications require engineering expertise to be sure what the engine can still handle and how can it be upgraded.

My name is matt wright and i have a 2004 subaru impreza wrx and my check engine light is on and its just annoying and i want it off. anything i can do to turn it off without havin to replace engine parts?...

only advice i can give it take the instrument cluster out of the dash and remove the light bulbs for both items. although it's not smart advice but it will solve your problem of not wanting to have it fixed correctly.

I have a 1999 Subaru Outback Impreza Sport. The

If you have any of the large chain auto parts stores in your area, call them and ask if they do free scans; most do.
If Subaru has maintained the same procedures for a while, and you have checked fluids, etc., you can try resetting the light via the ignition switch:
-Turn on the ignition (don't start) - switch it rapidly between the 'ignition on' and 'ignition off' positions three times.
If the error has cleared itself (not uncommon), the check light will reset. If the problem is still present, it will either stay or come back on.
Our Su has done this a couple of times and with the scanner we have on hand, there was never any particular repeated problem. Just a computer glitch/hiccough -

Check engine light just came in, but I just had an oil change and tune-up 3 weeks ago. Mileage 152,000.

In cases like this you are advised to take the vehicle for a scan which will reveal some codes that you can simply look up for confirmation @ http://www.troublecodes.net/Subaru/

Cheers and don't forget to rate this solution.

1994 subaru impreza wrx engine light on

Many automotive computers have a RPM limiting feature that tries to prevent engine damage if something is amiss. This should allow you to drive to repair point but keeps the engine from doing a lot of work.
You need to have your computer scanned to determine what the stored error codes are. You can have this done free at any auto parts chain.

2006 Subaru Impreza. Oil warning light stays on dimly when starting from cold but fades as engine warms up to normal running temperature. I did an oil and filter change about 2 weeks ago. Oil level on...

No, just keep an eye on it to see it does not start staying on longer and longer. The oil pressure sensor my be a little off,and at worse the oil pump is a little weak. Just keep up on the oil changes.3500 miles max.

My 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX (automatic) has 71,000 miles and the check engine light came on today. Ther car still runs okay and was tuned up several months ago. Can I still drive it without damaging it?

When your check engine light comes on, the car is telling you there's a problem, but it's still okay to drive to your destination. When the check engine starts blinking at you, that means pull over and turn off the car before you incur more damage.
Please keep in mind that you shouldn't be driving it indefinitely without having your code checked (you can rent a code reader from most car parts stores) but that you probably won't kill anything if you drive it for a few more days.
