SOURCE: how do you remove the primer rubber boot on the

There is usually a small cir-clip or e-ring to hold back the rubber boot. Look carefully around the outer edge of the boot. There could be some dirt around the area where the clip is scrape around a little with a small flat blade screwdriver. Maybe sometimes they can even unscrew if it has a raised edge around the perimeter but not likely.

Snowblower carburetor primer not pushing any fuel

Did you replace the fuel lines as well?; the rule of thumb is, when changing out the fuel lines- you should replace the primer bulb since they are a barometer of each others condition and wear.

If you did not remove the primer bulb from the carburetor when you were cleaning the component parts (and predicated that the primer bulb is mounted on the carburetor, as opposed to being mounted remotely from it)- the solvents used to clean the carburetor could have broken down the plastic or rubber material that makes up the primer bulb- hence suction leaks or complete failure.

If you did remove the bulb assembly, make sure you snugged everything up and there's a tight seal. I would still replace it anyway- they're inexpensive.

BTW, you mentioned you are using "fresh high grade fuel"- are you using premium grade gas? If so, save your money and use an 87 regular octane gas.

What you should be concerned with is- the use of ethanol. In many mid-western states, gasoline is blended with 10-15% ethanol- which can absorb water from the atmosphere and cause corrosion in the fuel system.

The money you save from buying regular unleaded could be used to buy a fuel stabilizer, which I highly recommend you use. Gas is only good for about 30 days and then the volatile compounds in it begin to evaporate- leaving brown gummy deposits that will eventually harden like varnish- which can plug up the fuel lines and carburetor.

Please let me know how you make out. Best wishes on your project.

All of the fuel lines have broken due to age and now I do not have a good idea how to replace with new lines

In general, a fuel line runs from the fuel filter in the tank (check the filter for plugging) up to the carburetor inlet port (usually upper-most). The lower carburetor port goes to the inlet of the primer pump. Leave the other primer port open for the moment. With fresh fuel mix in the tank, try to pump fuel into the primer bulb--if nothing happens, move the line to the open port and see if it will pump. If neither one works, the filter is plugged, the carburetor is internally plugged, or the primer bulb is cracked or has a hole in it. Be sure to use original type fuel lines--not plastic. Once you have the primer bulb filling with fuel, install a fuel return line from the open primer port back into the tank through another hole. The engine should be ready to start at this point. Hope this helps!

Can not get gas to primer

Check the primer bulb closely to see if it is cracked. Assuming that the fuel lines have not been moved around, and the primer is good, this indicates a plugged carburetor, a bad fuel line to or from the carburetor, or a plugged fuel filter. Be sure to have fresh fuel mix in the tank. Hope some of this helps!

Why does my primer bulb when pushed stay push in and won't retract? PE550 Weed Eater Carburator?

You may have a clogged in tank fuel filter, lines in the tank broken off of the fuel filter and line fragments clogging the fuel lines. . Fuel lines get flaky when they deteriorate. Your primer bulb may be leaking also. The check valves in the carburetor control the flow of fuel in and out of the primer bulb. The carb may need cleaning. In other words, a complete fuel system assembly inspection will be needed. If the bulb is on the carb, the check valves in the base assembly below it may be sticking. Remove bulb and spray in there with WD-40 to free frozen or sticking check valves. The valves are very small and malfunction occasionally
Start your inspection at the fuel tank and work your way to the carb. Pull the cover off the carb on the end opposite the end with the vent hole in the cover. You will be pulling off the fuel pump cover. Inside the carb body you will find a very small round fine mesh screen. Clean it well with carb cleaner and when you reassemble, spray some WD-40 in that area too.

When I push the bulb to prime the weedeater nothing happens.

It helps to know the purpose and function of the purge/primer bulb. It is designed to draw fresh fuel out of the fuel tank (line with in-tank fuel filter) and send it directly to the fuel pump side of the carburetor. Also, it's vacuum effect helps out it's next function of drawing any air/old fuel out of the carburetor from the metering chamber and sending it back to the fuel tank after it passes thru the bulb itself. This is how a remote primer bulb functions. It doesn't have to be completely full of fuel for the engine to run either.
So, you need to check 1. The fuel filter in the gas tank 2. The condition of the fuel line connected to that filter (the line should be soft and clear, not yellow and brittle). 3. The status of the fuel inlet on the carburetor (open). 4. The condition of the fuel line from the carb to the primer bulb
5. The condition of the primer bulb and its' plastic fittings. (the bulb shouldn't have any cracks or be severely discolored . These things apply whether the bulb is a stand alone type or mounted on carb type.
Carburetor mounted bulbs develop their own unique problems of operation due to the check valves that control fuel flow below them in the primer base assembly of the carburetor. Those valves are fragile and sometimes fail (strong solvents and high air pressure ruin them) and the fuel doesn't move back and forth properly causing carburetor malfunction.

Poulan 2150 put new fuel lines on geting gas trew line put the primer buld will not prime and somtimes gets stuck but will release win i pull it of carb

Check the condition of the primer bulb for hardness or cracking. If ok, remove the line that goes from the bulb back into the tank and try to pump fuel from the carburetor. If nothing, switch the position of the other line at the back of the primer and try to draw fuel again. If hooked correctly, the primer will pull fuel through the carburetor body filling all cavities and into the primer bulb. If still nothing, try switching the lines at the carburetor (it should not pump backwards through the check valves in the pumper chamber). If still nothing, switch the primer connection again. Some combination of line connections should allow fuel to be pumped through. When correct, reconnect the loose primer line to allow fuel to return to the tank. This is a good reason for replacing only one line at a time. Hope this helps!

Fuel lines question. From the filter to the carburator Were do I place that line?. There are two conections One at the top side with a black nipple and one on the side of the carburetor , How can I...

The fuel line from the tank that has the filter on the inside end is the main fuel line and should go near the top of the carburetor. The primer connection goes to the lower connection. Remove the tank side line from the primer bulb and leave loose. If the bulb is working in the proper direction, it will pull fuel from the carburetor and into the primer (and normally expel the excess back into the tank). Once the bulb is filling correctly, re-attach the return line to the bulb. Try to start the engine. If ok, it should run. Hope this helps!

Took tank off weed eater and not sure how the lines go back on

The line with the fuel filter in the end comes out of the tank and it goes to the bottom fitting on the carburator. The other line comes out of the tank and goes to the bottom fitting on the primer bulb, and the third section goes from the top fitting on primer bulb to top fitting on carburator. Got it? lol Hope this helped and best wishes.
