You can purchase a harness adapter that will plug into the original radios harness. The other end of the adapter harness has loose wires with tinned ends which you connect to the new radio's harness, which as the same colors as the adapter wires.
Metra Model: 70-8901 is one adapter that I believe will work.
Scosche item Number: 16845632 is another adapter.
If you want to buy locally, Best Buy will probably have one or the other. If you want to buy on line, just do a search for the name and model numbers.
My best advise is not to cut the stock wire harness plug. Go online or to your local best buy and buy a wiring harness that will plug into your stock plug and into the radio. then you don't need to know what any wires are. cutting the stock harness is opening a can of worms.
Not real clear on question, but you can buy a direct fit wire harness and the wires are color coded so you don't have to cut and splice your wires on your factory harness. The harness hooks to your factory plug and you wire it to your pioneer stereo wires. Harness is about 7.99 up at most stores.
easiest way is to also buy the wiring adapter almost all elect brake units sell a vehicle specific wire harness that u unplug brake wire harness plug in other harness than plug in brake harness and just connect the wires to elect brake controller eliminates cutting and splicing ur brake harness about $18
You can buy a cheap harness from the local parts store for your Honda made specifically to put in aftermarket head units. Since you know the pin outs on your head unit, you can wire it up quickly uning this harness and it will plug directly into the factory Honda harness. Go to Scosche dot com part lookup for your number - I think the wiring schematic is on the outside of the package, too.
You need to buy a ford wiring harness. They are about $22 at Best Buy. If you want to hardwire the unit to your car then you need to get the wiring colors from Ford. It is 100x times easier to just buy the wire harness.
You will need to go buy a wiring harness adapter from your local Walmart (usually cheapest there) or Local Electronics place (ie Best Buy). The wire harness that goes out from the radio goes into the Adapter and the adapter plugs into the car harnesses. Also these Adapters come with the wiring diagrams for your vehicle. They typically run 10 - 15 bucks depending on where you get them. Thanks for using FixYa!
absolutely not true. when you take your stock radio out of your vehicle there are clips in it and when u take the clips out and the antenna the radio is free when you buy an aftermarket radio from best buy or wherever it will come with a harness for that specific radio now wherever you buy the radio from they probably have a selection of wiring harness for specific makes and models you just buy that and when u take it to the clips installed in the cavalier it will just snap in then the wires on the radio harness will be color coded to the ones on your new harness good luck!
ps i recommend walmart to buy the harness its about $10 there..
