Question about Heating & Cooling

Open Question

My Efel Harmony oil stove won't light. In recent months it would get very very sooty and then the other day it wouldn't light. I gave it a good cleaning and the soot was unreal, but it still won't light. When we first got it 8yrs ago it hardly made any soot. We had a flexi flu fitted in the chimney before we had the stove fitted and they said the chimney wold never need to be cleaned. Could the chimney be full of soot?

Efel oil stove wont burn blue only yellow

Pull the crown and the two crown supports, scrape and vacuum the residual ash on the bottom and around the starter coil. Pull the and turn the oil feed tube scraper back out of the way. Reach inside the tube with a screwdriver and scrape out the residue until as clean as posssible. Exercise the fuel tube rod several times until there is no scraping sound. Vacuum the interior and replace the parts (Do not clean the crown).

I have an old Efel Kamina wood stove that I want to install in a new structure that does not have a chimney. I need the manufacturer's specifications to determine the distances from combustible materials...

From an insulated wall - 30 inches. Not insulated - 38. We have one as well and are trying to find out information about it.

Southport Stove Inc. Serial # F90309 ICBO 3 500 Another number: 079-66 It's a Kamina.

Any information would be great!

Having trouble lighting a second hand efel oil stove what is the steps needed to take when igniting it

plug in, open bottom and clean line end by twisting and pulling pushrod, make sure valves are on, tank must be higher do to gravity feed, crack open door 1/2 in, turn timer dial (one that clicks) all the way it should glow at bottom of crown, turn on fuel to low setting (just counter clock of the click), once flame is burning across the bottom of the pan close door all the way. The door open is so that it keeps stove clean for lighting also open the door for closing. If smoke is coming out of the door close it a little more. the stove needs to be clean and will stay clean for a long time if you open the doors. if it floods you need to clean it out. there are fuel adjust screws and air adjust counter weight but have a professional set those. good luck its a great stove once you get to know it.

Hot poinbt gas stove , mouse inside,

We had this happen recently. The smell of urine got to be too much. My wife wouldn't even go into the kitchen. I took the stove apart. the insulation under the range, which is where he was living, was soaked in urine and **** .I removed all the insulation. Spoke to a repair man. Replaced insulation with pink house fiberglas insuation and gave it a good cleaning. Smeel is gone. Repairman said this happens all the time and is a an easy but labor-intensive job. Call someone to do it if you aren't comfortable taking your stove apart.
