There are a several of things that can cause this problem:
1. The Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) is clogged and reads the Oxygen Level in the room as
Unsafe for Operation. Solution: Clean the ODS, which is part of the Pilot Assembly With canned
compressed & a straw nozzle (like you clean your computer with). It will require some dis-
mantling of your heater,
2. Once Pilot is lit, not waiting long enough for the Thermopileto heatup, before pushing the Medium
button. Allow pilot to burn at least one minute, before switching to any heat selection.
3. Gas pressure problem. Have the gas pressure to the unit checked, as well as the gas pressure
at the gas control valve, while unit is in operation.
If you continue to have this problem after completing the Solution in # 1. Call the Rinnai Helpline
1 300 366 388 or contact your local Rinnai Dealer, who you purchased the unit from.
If you have misplaced your Owner's Manual, here's a link to it, that you can download and print for future reference.
I hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.
