Reset the unit as you have not told it that a new filter has been fitted.

SOURCE: I purchased a new filter

Reset by pressing and holding the Light/Filter button until the number returns to 6 (6 months). Some models only allow you to do this when the number reaches 0 (ie change the filter)
Reset the "Filter Indicator" light (follow the link and click on the instllation tab)

SOURCE: "change water filter" continues to flash when dispensing water

I believe your new Jen-Air has an old model number placed above your post. If you had a newer model nuber I could see if changes were made to the solution. The ods are no changes. I it possible you may have missed removal of te flilter plug? It also is your first time and to press the 2 buttons at same time for 8 to 10 seconds may be a little confusing. I bet after this time you will have this down to an art! here is what I could find without the vorrect model number if that is what happened or not.Jenn-Air
Press and hold the light and lock buttons until the change filter light flashes.
It is very easy to reset your filter indicator light on your Maytag refrigerator. Simply press and hold the light and lock buttons, on the dispenser, for about three (3) seconds, until the change filter light blinks.
Jenn-Air Refrigerators - Press and Hold The Light and Lock Buttons until the filter light flashes (usually 5-10 seconds).

SOURCE: Low pressure water dispensing on an LG brand fridge

First check the pressure into the frig. Sometimes the inlet line can get kinked. The second thing I would buy is a NEW water valve. There only about $20-$30, and not too hard to install. A nut driver and a pair of plyers should be the only tools needed. There are usually 2 water valves, one for the water, and the other for the ice maker. If 1 is bad... the other is next to fail soon, so buy both before to save head aches down the road.

SRS580DW Water filter indicator red light is on. Where in the fridge do I find it to take it out to replace pleace?

Resetting the water filter indicator light can also be found in the user manual for your SRS580DW Refrigerator User Manual page 8 The water filter indicator initially lights up green. Press the ICE TIMER and ICE MODE buttons at the same time for about three seconds to reset the water filter installation date. • The green light changes to orange after five months to indicate that you should soon change the water filter. It changes to red after an additional one month (six months after the water filter was changed or installed) to indicate that you must change the water filter. • If you wish to turn off the filter indicator lamp or the filter is not connected, press the ice timer & ice mode button simultaneously for 5 seconds. If you wish to turn on the filter indicator lamp again, press the ice timer & ice mode button simultaneously for 3 seconds. NO manual for Fridge.

I can get the service manual for you. Here is what the manual tells you on page 101.
WATER FILTER CHANGE REMINDER
(Select Models)
For some refrigerator models featuring
water filters, the Water Filter Change
Reminder function monitors the life of the
filter and provides a reminder when it is time
for the filter to be changed.
When the system detects either 12 months
of usage, or the filtering of 416 gallons of
water (whichever comes first), the CHANGE
FILTER
indicator light will illuminate. This
indicates that the water filter should be
changed and the light reset.
To reset CHANGE FILTER light: Press and
hold the LIGHT and LOCK pads until the
CHANGE FILTER light blinks (approx. 3
seconds). The control is now reset for 12
months or another 416 gallons.
Thanks, Sea Breeze

Need to change the water filter on my Sub Zero 690

Hello. The factory indicates your unit required an in-line water filter if your plans were to use one, or the installers added it. There was no indication of an internal filter in the fridge itself. If there was it should be easy to see or find. However this can be good news for you also as your filter (if installed) migt be easy to find and access behind or near the fridge if installed well and a good quality but common form of water filter you can easily replace may have been used, if installed. Otherwise if you have whole-house water filtering already they may not have added any further filtering.

If you can contact who installed your 690 they should be able to tell you where they installed it and what type. If not just have someone follow your water line to the fridge unit, and see what turns up as you make your way along to the place where water connects to the fridge.

About the filter

I really dont think you would have to change it. Like I said, if your household filter is doing its job, the fridge one will not actually be filtering contaminents out. To remove the filter you would have to get access to the tubing that comes into the filter and connect a new piece of tubing between that piece and the tubing that the filter output connects to. On most fridges that would be a nightmare of a job.
