Keeps repeating itself

Most nailers have a two position setting on the trigger to allow for single fire or bump fire. If set on bump fire, the gun will work better when you bump fire the gun instead of placing the gun on the work then depress trigger. Bump fire works best when safety spring has good tension. Easy test. Make sure that the safety spring is in place (with air hose removed, contact foot should spring back quickly when pushed against work). With air connected, hold trigger and quickly bounce the gun against the work. If the gun does not fire when you bump, the trigger is most likely set to single fire. With trigger set to single fire, you must place the gun against the work, then depress trigger. If the gun shoots two nails while set to single fire, most likely worn trigger or worn out trigger valve. These parts are not expensive and are easy to replace. Good luck

Air is coming out by the trigger of my stanley bostitch nail gun so will not fire.

Usually when this happens, a new trigger assembly is needed. See the link below for more information about diagrams and parts. Typical trigger kits will cost about $25. Please note that the exact model number of the gun is required.

N62FN: air leaks at trigger switch how to replace o-ring.

Be careful, the leak may be within the trigger assembly itself. Check the link below for a pointer to a parts site that also has exploded diagrams of the gun. These diagrams will assist in parts replacement. The trigger assembly should be available for around $25.

The spring in my trigger flew out. how do i put it back

The n60fn uses two triggers, rapid fire trigger (black metal) is pictued with your post and does not need a spring. Just replace the 3 mm roll pin that holds trigger to the body of the gun and you should be good to go. The other trigger is the white plastic sequential. The sequential trigger uses a fine spring between the trigger and centered on the tva6 trigger valve. Parts and breakdown at Good luck

Winchester model 88. with the trigger assembly

Less Than Perfect
The Model 88 had its faults. The trigger moves with the lever and the resulting linkage to the sear results in a rather spongy, creepy trigger break. If you want to see your gunsmith turn pale, waltz into the shop with an M88 and ask for a crisp three-pound trigger.

If you already have taken the gun apart, don't be afraid to hone the parts on a stone , keep them flat, you don't want anything rounded off. Especially the sear. I found that quote up top from a winchester sight,

The foward and reverse button/slide does not lock in will slide past the correct working point, and if you do get in the correct spot it wont stay.

The locking ball spring is bad, you can remove the spring and stretch it to add tension to the spring so that the ball locks the trigger assembly in place. If you need more help post here and here is a web page for parts and books with diagrams.

Poulan 3400 chainsaw throttle trigger

Its a missing or broken spring in the handle(trigger). If you look inside the handle you should see a circular spring around the post of the trigger. This spring returns trigger to idle position. If its missing or broken the trigger won't spring back.
