First youll need an amp. Depending on what size the sub is a 500 watt rms amp can hold up to about a 300 watt kicker. If your looking for something bigger u can get a 1000 watt amp and hook up two 300 watt kickers. To hook up the amp youll need a car amp power cable, power control cable, speaker wire, amd a car amp ground wire. They usually sell kits that run aboyt 40 bucks. The power cable goes to the batter as well as the ground cable. The power control cable goes to the back of the head unit. (You will kost likely need a more modern headunit if urs is stock). Once this is done put the sub in the box (i recomend super glue because metal nails take away from the bass). Put the speaker wire to the speaker positive on left negative on right. Same with the amp. And now ur bumpin ;)

I have a old 2001 rockford fosgate 2 channel p5002 model in great condition just need to know how many watts is it and which subwoofers are compatible to this amp? thanks

Your amp is rated at 500 watts. Here is the break down of your wattage.

    125x2 at 4 ohms
    250x2 at 2 ohms
    500x1 at bridged 4 ohms

When hooking up the amp make sure to use 4 gauge power and ground wire.

I have a rockford fosgate punch P325.1 subwoofer mono amp that blows a fuse every time i start the car. I have a second pioneer amp but that works with no problems. How can i fix this?

Is it the correct size fuse ? Is it the power fuse or remote ? Either way check your connections going into the amp . Try this hook your other amp to the set of wires for the rockford if that amp has a problem its a wireing problem if not chances are its an interal problem on the rockford . Hope this helps !

How do you take the dustcap off a p210d2 rockford fosgate subwoofer

You can do this, and I'll tell you how, but I'd like to know why you'd want to do such a thing - you won't get as much bass out of the speaker, due to the voicecoil vent that is present on most subwoofers. This vent would make the box "leaky" and the bass would be seriously impaired.

Looking at the speaker, it doesn't look easy at all.

My usual method is to use a scalpel, and cut (carefully!!) around the dustcap, until it is removed. Sometimes, it's easier to make a starting hole with a scalpel, then use scissors.

This can't be glued. common problem.
You will have to find a speaker repairer who can replace the foam surround or just buy a new sub.

    Sub hook ups

There's a lot more factors involved than that.
    • Power capability of the subs
    • Type/size of the sub box
    • Allotted space in the vehicle for the sub box
    • Voice coil impedance of the subs versus the capability of the amp
    • Etc.
