John, is there no logo encrusted in the inside of the watch that could be of help? I still suggest you look carefully and see whether you can get any minutest detail by carefully examining the watch. Even if you can find a logo, it could help. ;-)

Gold & Silver Exchanges and Watch Repair shops carry watch books that will help you identify the value of your watch, just run it into one and talk to them. It's the easiest way, and you'll have the latest market value of the watch.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Anthony Valdez...

Sadly estimating a value for anything is highly subjective... to the whims of your market... (this is NOT the place)...

and for frivolities like YOUR community of interest.
Please do not fall victim to inappropriate SALES OFFERS off of this sites good reputation).

Watches... RIGHT-OUT.

While we FIXYA volunteers simply love to opine on issues of every sort... eBay would be a VASTLY superior place to test your VALUE... or merely watch (vicariously) some AMAZING WATCHES... tributes "replicants"... and down right ridiculous knock-offs being sold (as real watches).

To attempt to fix a value... IN A NEAR TOTAL INFORMATIONAL VACUUM.. would be incredibly irresponsible... and certainly inappropriate to the purpose of this (FIXYA) site... Much more suited to a professional retailer... jeweler.

Thank you for the opportunity.

Good luck.

I need to know how much my watch is worth

What kind of watch is it? Is there a model # ? What are it's features & what's it made of? Try a jeweler, watch dealer or possibly a pawn shop for an estimate of the value - a jeweler who sells higher end watches is probably your best bet.

Need appraisal on my grandmothers old bulova watch, serial # 1518119. It has links as its bracelet and is attached to the watch on its side with clips

Without more information, such as a picture of the watch or more information about the case, it is difficult to provide a value for this item. In general, vintage fancy ladies watches (the kind that are approximately the diameter of a U.S. nickel or smaller) are not very collectible. As recently as a few years ago, these were bought and sold in bulk for only a few dollars each. In nice cosmetic condition and running properly, a Bulova ladies fancy dress watch in a steel or gold-plated case might retail for between $15-50 at an antique mall. They might sell for somewhat more at a jewelry store that stands behind the accuracy of the movement, but because the inventory of these watches is so large and demand is fairly small, prices for these watches remain much more modest than similar age men's mechanical wristwatches.
Some valuation exceptions do apply. Certain brands of watches, such as Rolex, IWC, Blancpain, and other premium brands, are worth much more than common brands like Bulova. Ladies watches with sweep second hands, as opposed to fancy watches that just have hour and minute hands, are more desirable and are also worth somewhat more than average. Also, watches in solid gold, platinum, or silver cases--or watches with diamond chips or ornate cases--are also worth at least their "melt value" as scrap metal or have an independent value as fine jewelry. All precious metal cases must be labeled; if they are not labeled on the outside of the back cover, they should have be marked on the inside of the back cover (you'll need to carefully take the movement out of its form-fitted case to see this). Be aware that "14k RGP" or "rolled gold plate" on the case means it is not solid gold. Similarly, cases that are "warranted" for 10, 15, 20, or even 30 years are also gold-plate, not solid gold.
Today, with the increase in gold prices, many people have been buying these watches to melt down the gold-plated or gold cases for their gold value, throwing out the watch movements and watch bands. This may have a long-term impact of raising the value of these watches in the long term, as this is decreasing the supply of available watches of this type (it's also frustrating to watch collectors to see the watch movements discarded, as these are valuable sources of replacement parts that are no longer made). However, tens of thousands (more likely hundreds of thousands) of these watches exist in the United States alone, so there is little likelihood that these will become scarce in the immediate future.

Good morning. I am considering purchasing an antique omega watch: 14k white gold AA7442 562738 case serial number The movement is from the Omega watch co.. 17 jewels swiss. Serial number 23625437...

The repair to the winder may be only £30.00 but will the watch then work well.Parts for old Omegas can cost a premium and the watch may need a service.A service to an Omega by a good watchmaker will cost £170.00 ish and if it needs parts this will rise.
As to value if its 14ct on a bracelet the gold is worth about £12.00 a grm so if its 30g then the gold is £350/£400.00
Its hard to say what to pay without knowing if the watch works well,if it needs £200.00 spending on it the value is reduced to little more than the gold value so id weigh the watch work out a gold value and then a small amount.
If you need a repair try www.rolexrepairs.co.uk they offer a free estimate.
Regards

I'm trying to find out what is the current value for a Gucci 3800L ladies watch

mcdevito75 here, Without seeing the watch itself, very hard to tell, the age and condition and of course how well it"s working all count towards it"s value, although GUCCI is a powerfull name in watches all the mentioned factors count toward any watches value. I would figure your Ladies GUCCI watch is valued any where between the $250.00 $350.00 range. Check with a local Jeweler in your area also, for your watches value.

I have several old art deco watches that run but the dial faces have yellow spots. Can I do any type of cleaning to fix this safely.

Do not even try to clean. Any physical touch will destroy original colours and laquer. I'd advise to go to your nearest watch repair shop and do the estimate first. Then you will know what the each piece is worth. Only after estimate you can decide witch is the right one to clean. If the estimate is lower than $10 - you can put it in to your washing machine and just laugh about the struggle. Hope the rest of your watches have some value. :))) Rate me, plz.

I have an old ladies bulava watch serial #7895084. Is it worth anything?

Bulova is well known brand and your watch definitely have some value. Unfortunately, it is impossible to make valuation over the internet even if the serial No. is supplied. There are very many things to consider: level of wear, age, movements wear, glass, appearance, timekeeping, case, e.t.c. So, without seeing and inspecting it, I can't name any figures. Visit your nearest watch dealer and ask to do an estimate. You may be charged for that, but at least you will know exactly what your watch is worth.
Rate me, plz.

I would like to Identify this watch and its value. It has two seperate letter / # combos on the back. BVLGARI - AL38A, L3276

This is a Bulgari watch (Printed BvGari) model number AL 38 A.
An authentic Bulgari watch of this style would sell for around $2000. This particular model was counterfeited a lot so its best to have a watch maker familiar with the model or brand look at the case, band, and movement. Be sure to have the movement inspected so you know it was not swapped for a cheap replacement.
