SOURCE: dewalt DW988 drill chuck

lock the drill in a vise so you can work on it. Then try working a very small screw driver tip into the jaws as you at the same time back up the jaws. They may be jamed against each other.

SOURCE: How to change the drill bit for a Dewalt DW995

That tool comes standard with a keyless chuck so all you should have to do is grip the collar and turn it to loosen bit. If it is stuck you might try a rag of some sort on the collar and use the motor to loosen it up. Let me know if you need more help.

SOURCE: removing the dewalt DC925 'rohm' chuck

I have a DC927 and a DC926 that I removed 1/2" Rohm Supra SK key-less chucks on. This process is pretty simple. Put the drill motor in 1st gear. Put the clutch ring in drill mode and not in driver or hammer. Reverse or open the chuck all the way. Hold the chuck firmly in a vise and give the drill a good POP counter clockwise. The last step can also be done with a pipe wrench by placing the drill on a work bench and turning the chuck counter clockwise. Continue to un-thread until the chuck is removed. The replacement chuck must have the same mounting process and mechanism. Put a few drops of locktite on the threads and thread the replacement chuck back on. Tighten the chuck using the vise or pipe wrench. Place the short end of an allen wrench in the chuck and tighten down on it. Placing the drill on a work bench, strike the allen wrench with a mallet to finish tightening and locking down the chuck. Congratulations, you have just changed out your chuck.

SOURCE: Hi, I have a dewalt dc925 drill. When running the

They all do that a bit. The sparks when starting up and stopping are normal. If it has been used alot brushes may be a good idea but before they need to be changed it will spark quite a bit.

It will not hurt to inspect the amount of brush material remaining.

SOURCE: broken dewalt battery 18v lithium ion

When a Dewalt charger is showing a fast blinking red light it means the battery is no longer chargeable. It may be because of a bad cell or short inside the battery. Whatever the reason the charger will not charge the battery and it needs to be replaced.

You'll have to contact Dewalt for that info--this is a reach---also I was unaware that there was a circuit board inside a 18V lithium ion batt---GL

Either bad batteries or a bad charger. You can use a multimeter to test for DC voltage output in the charger.

Is the green light supposed to flash while charging lithium batteries> just got the p113 charger but no instructions in the dang box

I have used alot of battery type drills and other action tools . Ryobi is on the lower end of the market as opposed to Milwaulkee and Dewalt . But my experience with battery operated tool charging equipment is that if the light is green and it's blinking , I would say it's charging . When the light goes off or stays on . I would say it's charged . Leaving the battery or batteries in the charging unit for 24 hours will not hurt the battery . My solution here is put it in the charger , and check it 12 hours later !

We are only managing to drill 4 x 6mm holes in paveing slabs, drill is 18v and only 1month old.

Ryobi is one of the cheapest drills. They are good for small projects. You need to upgrade to a better drill like milwalkie or Dewalt. Seems if you are drilling in concrete you need a corded hammerdrill. This will get the job done.

I have a Ryobi 18v drill with battery 130429002 that will not hold a charge. Expensive battery with very little use. Can you help?

If both batteries won't hold a charge the problem may be the charger (not providing a full charge). If one battery is OK and one not holding a charge, the problem is probably a defect with the battery. I know there expensive, (I recently had to replace one for DeWalt).
