Question about Washing Machines

Open Question

Hi, I have a Bosch Wfb 2004. The door will not open after running a full cycle. I have taken the top lid off and tried fiddling with the latch mechanism; the horizontal white shaft inside the latch mechanism moves a couple of millimetres left to right but still holds the door latch. When this fault occurred the machine had earlier caused the fuse box to trip. How do i get this door open please?

I have gave the door locking unit with the solonoid in a tap .the door opened straight away. The plunges must have been sticking. I remember doing similar on car starter motor solonoids.i may see if it comes apart to clean out any corrosion or goo .

LD WD1238C Door is Locked shut tried every trick you can think of including giving it a little kick

often on the upper grade washing machines, the components are a little more sophisticated. Possibly once you have removed the top lid, you will see the door latch from the back. some of the latches have a drawstring that you can pull which mechanically releases the door and opens. If you are able to before getting into stripping the wachine, gie it a quick cycle run and let it complete the cycle, Then try and open it. go from there.

Opened door during cycle, latch now stuck in closed position, can't re-close

twist a paperclip around some pliers so you have a circle opening. then hook the paperclip around the latch and pull outward with the pliers. once the latch is facing outwards the door should close again

The Rinsing aid door keeps opening in my Bosch dishwaser

I believe paddy55 is correct about the rack position affecting the rinse agent door. When the top rack is moved to the higher position, the rack hits the latch on the rinse agent door, causing it to pop open.

Move the rack back to the lower position and see if the door stays closed.

Can't close Bosch Dishwasher door

I had same problem and was alarmed at the idea of taking the door apart, so I tried the 2 screwdriver option described below - it works!

Open door and get two small screwdirvers behind each side of the catch inside the top of the door and gently apply pressure. The catch should reset itself on 'open' and allow you to shut the door again.

Thanks to all for their postings and helpful advice!
