Question about Dodge Vehicle Parts & Accessories
Installed remote starter. Dont have a spare key yet so i did not hook up the bypass module.. Now my truck will not crank and someone said it went to theft mode and locked up. How do i reset the truck to use with out the remote starter till i get the key??? HELP PLEASE!!!
Something is not connected right. The alarm should not inhibit normal day to day use of your transponder key. Recheck connections and be sure no factory connections are loose.

The condition you are having is due to a programming issue. When the dealer replaced the instrument cluster, they also disconnected battery power to the vehicle (or at least they better have)
and when the battery power was disconnected, then re-connected after the cluster replacement was completed, your after market remote start was affected. I tried to find a simple solution for you, but there were a lot of gray areas online. What I did find was a number you can call to rectify this problem. There is a procedure you can perform yourself, but it is not exactly clear unless you call the manufacture (that is the low side of aftermarket devices). The number is 1-800-753-0600. This is a support number, and have the model number ready and vehicle info ready when you call.

You installed this unit yourself, correct? You mentioned the bypass unit but not the remote starter unit. First, are all of the car's power wires connected...ignition(pink), 2nd ignition(green or white), accessory(orange)? There is a brown but it is radio accessory and not necessary for remote starter installation. Second, make sure that the ground for the XK06 is connected to the pass lock ground wire(black or orange with black) and not chassis ground. Next, check the ground when running(GWR, brown) from the XK06...make sure that it is connected to the remote starters ground when running. Now, it CANNOT be connected during programming, so make sure that you connected it AFTER you programmed the module. You didn't mention the remote starter unit but this wire is blue/white for Directed, light blue for Prestige and blue with black for some Code. Next, make sure that the ignition and starter wires of the XK06 are properly connected to the vehicle or remote starter's ignition and starter wires. You stated that the remote starter starts when you turn the key to accessory on...what about with just putting the key in the ignition(withoput turning the key)?

You have the wrong bypass. The bypass you are using is for universal transponders. You need the Passlock 2 bypass. The passlock is a resistance that is read from your ignition cylinder by the bcm that will allow your truck to start.

SOURCE: I installed prostart remote starter in 2002 Sonoma, used xpresskit bypass module to bypass passlock 2, truck started with remote ,now won;t start with remote, have to reset and start with truck key
If you are sure that everything is connected properly, then the only explanation could the ground when running from the remote starter to the bypass. If you are using data to data(D2D), switch over to wire to wire. Test the ground when running connection from the remote starter (white) to the ground when running connection of the Xpresskit (blue). You could even go so far as to connect the ground when running of the bypass to constant ground for the test. You CANNOT leave this wire connected to chassis ground.
Also, that vehicle has a second ignition wire(white) that MUST BE power up for remote start. If not, it will trigger the check engine light.
