A 94 f 350 fuel exchanging between tanks


there is no equalising between tanks and all the return fuel from the injectors is being contained in one tank. Try shifting the fuel return line to the tank that you are not drawing out of so that the fuel then flows into the tank that the pump is drawing from. Check that the tap/ s between tanks is turned on.

many times gas tank vent gets clogged then engine will run until engine creates a huge vacuum in tank and can't draw gas.

Loosen gas cap to Vent the tank to see if that's the issue

I changed the primer bulb and now it's not getting


sounds like you hooked the lines up backwards, when you press the primer it is supposed to squirt gas into the tank on the return line cause what it does is draw fuel through the carb and back to the tank....filter line from tank goes to fuel pump side of carb and return line on carb goes to primer bulb then opposite line on bulb to tank...... so when you press bulb it draws fuel through filter in tank through carb and back to tank ! good luck! 2StrokeJim

Im switching gas from rear tank to front tank or from front to back and it is causing overflow


sounds like the switching valve for the gas to draw out one tank first then the other tank is bad and needs replacing.this can cause gas to be pumped into the other tank causing it to overflow.

Does the valve on the auto switch over lp regulator shut off the gas or switch tank to other side


If your talking RV tank regulator. The lever or dial points at tank it's drawing from, and when that tank is empty, the indicator (if it has one) will turn from green to red, and start drawing from opposite tank. When you move the lever over to point at full tank, indicator should turn green again. Only shut off is at tanks.

Information below is for tank-type electric or gas heater only.

There is a condition called stacking.
This might apply to your water heater or not.
Having authorized service people to your house 3 times suggests more complicated mix of problems.

Stacking is caused when there are repeated short draws of hot water.
As you know, each time any hot water is drawn out of faucet, cold water immediately enters bottom of tank through the dip tube. The dip tube is connected to cold water inlet and runs to bottom of tank.
So all cold water enters bottom of tank close to the gas water heater thermostat.

Let's say your water heater if fully heated and burner is off.
A short draw of hot water causes cold water to enter tank.
Another short draw. And then another short draw, each draw happens close to same time as other draws.
Water at top of tank is plenty hot, but bursts of cold water get near thermostat and cause thermostat to turn on burner.
Burner heats water and more hot water rises to top of tank. Water at top of tank becomes overheated each time stacking occurs.

Again, a stacking situation may not be the cause of your problem.
However, remember if single-handled faucet is opened straight upward, then that draws both hot and cold water. And cold water immediately enters tank.
Only when the single-handled faucet is lifted with the handle all the way to the right, does it draw only cold water. Even so, some single-handled faucets have bleed-over between hot and cold sides, so hot water is drawn anyway.

Another possibility is that the dip tube ends at or near thermostat, instead of going all the way to bottom of tank. The dip tube should go straight down from cold water inlet, but dip tubes are made of plastic, and some self-cleaning tanks have a curved dip tube or dip tube with perforations that create currents designed to stir sediments off bottom of tank (although this is not proven to be effective deterrent to sediment formation).

Sounds like your gas guage isn't accurate. A fuel pump is not designed to draw fuel from the tank until it is completly dry. This is to avoid sucking up all the debris on the bottom of the tank.

Original gas tank replaced because of holes. New


It sounds like the new gas tanks do not have a breather fitted to them.

As you remove gas from the tank it needs to be replaced with air if not it creates a vacuum and natures way of filling a vacuum it to compress the space it is in

Fill a plastic soda bottle with fairly hot water , give it a minute then pour the water out and quickly screw the top on , watch the effect , that is your gas tank

There is either a metal or rubber tube or even a vent in the filler cap to allow air in

You did something to alter that ?

hi as for the fuel tank problem ? this is a vacumm problem created by the fuel pump workinh hard to draw fuel thus creating a vacuum inside tank suggest you ckeck the ventilation pipe from tank (under n/s/r wing along side filler pipe to see it is not kinked or blocked preventing tank to breath as pump draws fuel ?? as for excess fuel consumption? have you checked the air filter? remove it and check underneath ! this will give smoke you mention and you will have to press throttle more to overcome restriction air flow so more gas is more fuel used and little air to engine ? if you say engine stalls this is probably a result of tank vacuum and more fuel than air ?? hope this helps you sort it?
