How do i Change DPI in Canon 6D Camera

You don't.

Dots per inch (dpi) is an output parameter when printing your pictures. It's often determined by the printer and its driver.

The camera has no idea what printer(s) you are using. Since it has to put something in the dpi field, it selects 72. Most cameras do the same.

The dpi will change depending on the size of the print.

You can change the dpi field using any good photo editing program.

Can I get a 300 dpi still shot using the Canon S5 IS?

DPI is short for Dots Per Inch and it actually refers to printer dots per inch. These days, when used in photo software, it means PPI, which are pixels per inch. DPI and PPI are two different things, yet often DPI is used when PPI is meant, so read its usage in context.

Dpi (actually ppi) is only important in case of printing. When you open a picture in Photoshop a dpi-number is mentioned. Don't pay attention to it. It doesn't tell you anything, you can change it in any number you want, it doesn't change anything of the picture. But beware: you have to uncheck the resample-box! Resampling means calculating a new amount of pixels. The moment resampling is off, you can change the dpi-number, the according printing-measure is given. It also works the other way around: change the printing-measure, the dpi-number of the picture will be shown.

How do I adjust for a very high reolution?sony cybershot n50??

DPI (dots per inch) is an output specification and is meaningless to the camera. The camera puts in 72 simply because it can't leave it blank. 72 dpi is commonly used when viewing a picture on a computer screen.
Suppose you have a picture that's 3000 by 4000 pixels (12 megapixels). If you make a 4.tinch by 6inch print (4x6) then you'll be printing at 667 dpi. If you make a 12 by 18 print of the same picture, you'll be printing at 222 dpi. It's the same picture, just printed at different sizes (and different dpi). The dpi value is set when you print the picture, not when you take it.

Canon SD1300 setting for 300dpi size 2.75 x 2.975 how to set camera

It's not a camera setting.
DPI is "dots per inch". This only has meaning when the picture is output (usually printed, but also displayed on a screen). You can make two different-sized prints from the same photo file, and they will have different DPI settings even though they come from the same file.
A photo editing/printing program will let you control the DPI when you print a photo (and some will let you change the value when you save the file).

Setting dpi on canon ixus 800 IS

You can download manuals here.

As dpi is generally a printing specification, the size you set on your camera depends on what size prints you want to make. If you want to print 4" x 6" prints at 300 dpi, you can set the size to M2. If you want to print 5" x 7" prints at 300 dpi, set the size to M1. Anything larger, set the size to L. With L selected, an 8" x 10" will still be about 300 dpi, but any larger print will be at less than 300 dpi.

Select image>image size, make sure that the 'resample image' box is unticked and change the resolution to 300 dpi. This will automatically change the image size.
