Step 1:
Restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer
If done properly the user should get to a screen similar to the below screen. Select the option for Safe mode command prompt only Windows Advanced Options Menu
Please select an option: Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt Enable Boot Logging
Enable VGA mode
Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)
Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
Debugging Mode Start Windows Normally
Reboot
Return to OS Choices Menu Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice. Select safe mode with command prompt then type in chkdsk/f/r which will scan for and and attempt repair of bad files and bad sectors on hard drive You should have no input while chkdsk utility is in progress any input might further damage your computer also Use the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to determine which file is causing the issue and then replace the file. Type the following command and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

What does the A Padlock mean on a Dell Latitude d830

Hello, Sounds like you either have a spybot or virus. When you power up your laptop immediately start hitting the f8 and go into the safe mode and check for viruses. You need to put malwarebytes on it and clean in safe mode. Here is website for malwarebytes. This is free and works.

Hello.

Boot your system to Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly when powering on). Choose System Restore and choose a date when your system worked OK. Note: with System Restore, all your updates will roll back to that date. Follow the process.

Hope this helps.

My laptop wont go on to the desktop. It keeps telling something about launch start up repair but that aint working

There might be errors in the Windows Opeating System. This might have been caused by the recent hardware and software changes done to the PC. Try booting the computer into "Safe Mode", to do this, turn the pc on and while the computer starts up or right after you press the on button start tapping the "F8" key on your keyboard repeatedly until you see the "Windows Advanced Boot Options". From there select "Safe Mode" then press enter. If the computer boots into Safe Mode, you can try running a "System Restore" to restore the computer back to a date when it was working fine. Safe Mode can be accessed from Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore. Follow the on screen instructions.

Hope this help. Goodluck!

Hello,

Turn on your PC in safe mode by Pressing F8 on the keyboard immediately the PC is turned on or at start up.

A booting option will come up, choose safe mode and press enter on your key board.

Wait a while for it to boot up. After booting perform system restore.

System restore helps to back date your system to the time when the Digitizer pro was working perfectly. YOu can back date the system to like 1 week ago.

Follow below procedures to perform the system restore;
  • Start => All Programs => Accessories => System Tools => and click the System Restore. System restore will run and here you should see the Welcome System Restore page appear. Click Restore my computer button to an early time if it's not already selected. Click next to continue the steps.
  • There is on your laptop screen a Restore Point page appear, you can select it and then click the most recent system checkpoint it, click a restore point list. After you click the Next button, System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that System Restore will create. Click OK.
Your computer will be restarted after the restore and that would be all.

Try the Digitizer pro again, after the system restore is complete.

Good luck.

I have a Gateway m-series laptop computer that has worked fine until today with I was working on it and it suddenly when white screen and i can only operate it in safe mode

This may be virus problem. Or some software you have installed that altered the display driver. Do the following.
1. In safe mode run a virus check.
2. Try to recall what software you installed last. Un-install it in safe mode.
3. If you don't remember exactly the remove latest 3-4 software that you have recently installed.

You should be fine.

Hi, my laptop 6735s cant connect to internate and do other things i have to use safe mode. please help me.

Hello Mate,
first thing to think about it is when this start to happen, what did you change recently? did you install any software recently ? did you delete any files ? ...
Since you can access by using Safe mode, this is really great. so once you boot up your laptop in safe more, you can unistall any software that you installed recently and also use the windows restoration mode and restore your windows to a previous restore point when you are sure that it was working fine.
Let me know if it's still not working after my suggestions.
Best Regards,

Your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically shut down to protect your files and folders. Choose last known configuration to reverse to the most recent setting that...

Choose safe mode and see if you can get into it. If you can then go into system restore and choose the last date that you remember the computer working properly.

At this point the computer will restore the computer back to the earliest date that it was working properly.

Once you do this the computer will reboot and it should go back into windows normally and work just fine. If for some reason it doesn't then windows is corrupted and you'll need to wipe out the hard drive and restore the computer back to factory defaults.

Hello,

Sounds to me that a program installed isn't playing nice with Windows 98. I would go into safe mode and remove what ever software was recently installed or do as the link says and remove Antivirus program. If you can't get into safe mode I would have to tell you to reinstall Windows 98.

Have a good day,

Hello,

Choose Last Known Good Configuration. If that doesn't work, choose Safe Mode and then do a system restore to roll back your PC.
