My JVC HD-56FN97 turns on, isn't very bright, and the colors are all wrong. Everything is in a shade of green or purple. What is wrong? Lamp was replaced and nothing changed.

SOURCE: jvc hd ila model hd 52g886 red light blinking, and wont turn on

Hi, don`t know if you`ll be able to find this but D9405 a surface mount diode on the main power supply board is a known issue for yours and many other models, it has to be re-soldered not replaced, other joints in area may also need to be "touched up", other than that I had one where connector CN310 was not seated correctly, one side of plug was cocked way up, other than those 2 you may have a bad ballast (board that the lamp is connected to), Be sure that the lamp door is securely closed as they have a switch built into them and if the switch is not closed the set WILL NOT start, hope this helps you out, BMW Rider

Make sure the bulb is seated properly in it's hole. It has to be an exact fit or it won't work.

SOURCE: Green Shade on tv screen

This is a typical example of a convergence amplifier failing (any brand would be the same).
More than likely there are 3 amps and they should all be replaced together. Parts shouldn't be too
expensive but I would expect approx $100 US in North America and about £100 UK. Bear in mind thats for the repair not any transportation costs to/from the repair centre.

Not worth attempting to fix and that is the reason it was tossed.

JVC HD-56FN97 all blue colored objects are green; blue water, clothes etc. what is the problem?

Check with JVC as at least on one of these sets had these issues: wrong color, any color missing, picture upside down or backwards lettering etc and this one required the use of the computer with a jig from JVC to download to the unit itself two files.

It sounds like a firmware/software issue and if so JVC should have it on record.

I remember as we were authorized and were at first informed they would charge us three hundred for even using the jig---our owner simply said fine, we will tell the customer we will have nothing to do with this repair(nearest other service center was 150 miles, they had to give us the unit for free or end up replacing the set. My point is they are not the easiest people to deal with unless you have the upper hand with them.

My JVC HD-56G787 television has lost all blue color, everything is now green and purple.

Yes, contact a local JVC authorized repair shop--if I remember this model correctly it had this issue: missing a color or wrong color, picture backwards or even upside down.

What was involved at the time was connection of the set to a computer and two files downloaded from their site---there is a multi-pin plug inside the rear of the set (have to remove cover) that when the process is done will reset the processor in the set to correct any or all of the above issues.

The process requires the jig JVC designed for this and hence you want a JVC dealer. When we did them they provided the jig/

an internal degaussing coil circuit is already installed in the unit to neutralized color pattern...a loose solder connection may have caused this because as it operates temperature increases between the thermistor..

JVC AV_48WP30 Screen loses color, everything is in like negative color

Sounds like shading, caused by convergence IC or bad solder connections in convergence circuit. Check the CONVERGENCE GALLERY for shading.

JVC design is generally reliable. It is extremely unlikely that you would have 2 unrelated failures.
