Buzzing sound car stereo

Bought a used 2000 chrysler concorde with blown speakers. I replaced the speakers and amplifier and started it up and now I got a loud buzzing sound in all speakers.

Wow and I thought the amplifier was good. I got it at a wrecking yard. Is there any way to fix the driver transistor?

  • Brad Brown May 10, 2013

You can take it to an electronic repair shop unless you are good at soldering etc. What is the make and model of the AMP?

The amplifier is made by Chrysler part no. PO4760296AC

A lound buzzing sound is an indication that the Driver (transistor) for the amplifier final is bad. This is not so much a buzzing and it is extreme in loundness.

Everything that I can find on this unit is not good. They may be made by HARMON from HK audio BUT there are no posted schematics on it anywhere there are used amps here:http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMP-AMPLIFIER-30... The internal pictures of that style amp show that they used suface mount drivers and integrated circuits. They have a history of not dealing with JUMPSTARTING the vehicle well. Unless you have an oscilloscope and great trouble shooting techniques, I would replace it with either a like or different system. I am sorry

What would cause a buzz in speakers?

There are many causes of buzz, so it should be checked step by step :
- Bad connection on the input connector, or cord.
- Amplifier, basically have the block diagram like this. View image.25850665-l1qpqmriditabltrjczr2eku-2-0.jpg
If in one block damage, buzz can be heard. In the amplifier.
Generally occurs in the PSU and / or power amplifiers.
Fix it to the experts, because it requires a good knowledge of electronics.
Blown speaker cone, does not cause a buzz.
Short circuit along the wires supplying the audio, it will not cause any sound in the speakers, including the sound of music.
Try also, disconnect the input connector, whether the buzz is still audible. If after the input connector is removed, the buzz disappears, the possibility of buzz came from another device before the amplifier.

Speakers have a crackle in the sound also rear speakers not working

can mean several things. The crackle is subjective and can mean distortion. Distortion most of the time comes out of the amplifier. Could be you have blown a capacitor in the power supply of the amplifier, making it work with quasi half the voltage. There is no need to change the polarity on a speaker, because when one is not working infuse, it won't distort the music. You only could have difficulty with the stereo sound. It could be a bit unclear where the sound is coming from and could sound a little less powerful.Check the speakers on a different amplifier, to hear if I'm right. Only if you switched on sound while the amp was giving full power, you could have blown the speakers, but most of the time they don't give any noise after that.

Everything isn't stock. The amplifier isn't stock. Is the radio stock? If so what are you using for remote "on" to the amp? Start there.

Car wont start was running fine now just wont start 2000 chrysler concorde. it seems like it wants to fire but not getting fuel or something

i would turn on the ignition while listening under the back of the car and you should hear a buzzing from the fuel pump. if you dont hear it then either your fuel pump is bad or you blew a fuse or sometimes you can trip the fuel safety shut of switch that should be located in owners manuel

Car stalled and had to have it jumped. Turns out

the "positive electrical whatever" you mentioned is probably the positive battery terminal. does the car have an amplified stereo system? if so, there is most likely a broken wire at the positive terminal, preventing the amplifier from powering up and playing the music.
