SOURCE: Yellow water in Intex 18 x 48 pool after using Salt Water System

Stop using the generator until you can neutralize the metals in the well water. You'll need a sequestering agent and would be best served taking the sample in for analysis to be sure you are dosing correctly. The yellow water can be from iron in the water being ionized, chlorine reaction, or algae, although you should not have algae in new water. You may also want to remove excess phosphorus using a product like phosfree. Again, the store should be able to give you the correct dose based on pool size.

SOURCE: Keeps saying low salt level

I would say the rain is diluting the system at this point, or the system sensor has gone out. But if you had heavy rains I would be looking at that idea first.

SOURCE: I JUST SET UP MY INTEX SALT WATER SYSTEM A

It is possible that you do not have enough
even after disolving the salt by siring it up you need to run the filter for at least 24 hours to really disolve and mix your salt

even though you cant see it it is still not equally distributed through the water

once you have run the system for 24 hours check your salt content
It should be as close to 3000ppm as possible

a test kit will cost about 11 dollars for ten tests

What is the right level of salt in 24 foot aboveground pool?

What is the requirement for the chlorinator? Any leaflet with the unit? Also what is the width and depth of the pool?

Most chlorinators require between 0.4% to 0.6% salt.

What should I do if my copper level test is 0.9 on my above ground 18; salt water pool

copper level should be 0.0
you can purchase a good quality metal remover but be sure to follow the instructions to the letter for best results. short of that, remove all but 6 inches of water from pool and refill with fresh (not well) water

How much salt to put in 18x48 pool frist time

Frame Set or Easy Set?

If Frame Set = About 6,400 Gallons
If Easy Set = About 5,450 Gallons

Salt levels in a pool for a generator to operate efficiently...
2700 ppm Minimum to 3400 ppm Maximum, 3200 being Ideal.

So...
In pool water with NO Salt reading at all - 0, then you will add 2.67 lbs. of "Pool Salt" (which is almost Food Grade Quality! - NOT Softener Salt!) per 100 gallons of capacity.

This chart has lots of useful info: take a look

My pool is cloudy and I added clarifier and it still won't clear. I checked the salt count and it's reading 1100 ppm. We have a 15 foot round 48 inch deep pool. I also shock the pool weekly...

1st... Your salt count should be at 3000 ppm... For your size pool, the start-up salt needed should be about 95 to 110 lbs..
2nd... Run your pump for 24 hrs without the chlorinator after you have reached the 3000 ppm to properly disolve the salt and use only "pool salt"
3rd... Set your pump at 12 hrs and your chlorinator at 10 to 11 of those hrs until you have reached the desired chlorine level.
4th.. After your pool water has cleared, within 2 to 3 days...clean your chlorinator electrolytic cell and adjust your time down to maintain the proper chlorine level..

Hope this helps and if it does, please rate and comment....
Good Luck!!!

I have an 18 by 48 Intex easy set pool and have had a high salt reading I emptyed about a 1/3 and ran clean in but still to high now its turning green what do you suggest I shock it with?

For your pool size you should have started with 160 lbs of salt. 18x48= 6,400 gallons of water. The manual says the only way to lower salt is to partially drain and refill with water, I do not believe there is anything you can add to remove salt. I would think you can throw in some regular chlorine shock to get the green out while you are adjusting the salt level.

I just need to know how to set the salt water system. i have an 18ft pool and have put 3 bags of salt in so far.

You don't say how deep it is. Since you say 18 foot pool, I presume it is round. AT 2 foot depth = 3817; 3 foot depth = 5726 gallons; 4 foot depth 7634; 5 foot depth is 9543. Your salt bag should tell you how much to put in referencing the gallons.

I hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa.com

I have an above ground pool 18' round 52" deep. I purchased the intex saltwater system. I have had it run everyday for 8hrs a day and the ph is high and reads no chlorine. What to do?

Salt generating systems cuase pH to rise over time so you generator appears to have been working. What is the salt level in the water? Perhaps your pool is low hence no more chlorine generation.

Hi i have a 18 x 48 above ground intex frame pool with a salt water pump /chlorinator system. i have put the required amount of salt in 75 kg and it has fully desolved. the alarm keep coming up on the pump...

Hello,
the amount of salt that they reccomend in the book is just a starting point
You need to get a salt test kit that reads in #'s not colors
Get your pool to as close to 3000ppm as possible
lower than 2800ppm and you will not produce enough chlorine
any higher than 3500ppm and you can trigger high salt alarm, have bad tasting water, or even get cloudy water
Like you have done, when adding salt , filter only for 6 hours or so to fully disolve
