When used, it seems to effect guitar amplifiers and cause a strange sort of a chorus sound, like somehow the unit is bleeding into the other amps.

it maybe interference picked up through an unsheided or poorly sheided cable or through single coil type pickups rather though the amp itself. You might also try get your power for the amps and this unit through different circuits.

Boss ME-70 distortion changing mid play why.

Is distortion changes like we turn the OD/DS selector (changes to Boost-Natural-OD1-Blues etc)?
If so, the OD/DS potentiometer need to replace.24346541-2ss5ycyvkoajtv035dpuezke-4-0.jpg

If the changes are like increasing/decreasing GAIN/BASS/MID/TREBLE/LEVEL and also TYPE of pre-amp, then one of PREAMP potentiometer is bad.24346541-2ss5ycyvkoajtv035dpuezke-4-1.jpg

Hum when mixer is turned on

If it is a 60Hz or 120 hz hum, the fault may be a bad solder connection to a filter capacitor in the power supply.

If it is a hum like a bad mic connection, you may have dirty contacts on an input, dirty tracks on a mixer control, even on the EQ portion.

It may also be a bad cable is connected, or a 1/4 inch jacked input may not be grounding out when the plug is removed. You may have a bad ground on the power feed and you have a ground loop as a result, or a cable is faulty and creating it's pwn ground loop to something else.

Contact cleaner is not a bad idea, slide pots are notorious for spurious noise over time. LPS1 is not bad, but it does use silicone as the dry lubricant portion.

If all of that is ruled out, look internally for bad solder joints- anything that looks crumbly is suspect, and also check for loose wires and jacks with bad solder connections. Also look for loose connectors too.

I`ve just bought a new Fender Telecaster Deluxe. When I plug it into my amp there`s a slight hissing hum. When I touch the strings it stops. I`ve tried it through a different amp & changed leads so

you may have a ground loop problem and when you touch the strings you complete the ground loop so the noise dissapears. make sure the amp is plugged into a proper grounded outlet. also there is an aftermarket ground plate that goes under the pick guard. that is what I put on mine to cut the emf way down. if you bought the guitar from a dealer take it back to the store and ask them why you are getting so much noise.

Just bought a ProFX8 mixer to connect to my Bose L1 PA system, but as soon as I connect the outputs to the Bose inputs and raise the master fader there is a "ground hum" even without anything...

Make sure you are using BALANCED audio interconnect cables AND that the speakers and the mixer are powered from the SAME receptacle... Yes, this means running extension cords. It is a ground loop problem. You should be using XLR or TRS cables BALANCED cables from the mixer to the basss unit of the L1 system. The bass unit and the mixer MUST be powered from the same receptacle to avoid ground loops and hum.

Make sure the power supply for this is powered from the SAME receptacle as your amplifier is powered. Keep the cable from this to the amp fairly short and high quality cable. Keep guitar away from magnetic field sources... the wall wart adapters are notorious for generating magnetic fields.
