I am trying to wire a dayton booster pump. it shows a L1 and L2 connection on the 115v connection. L1 goes to P1 L2 goes to T4. on the 220v connection it shows L1 and L2. L1 goes to wire P1 and L2 goes...

The power cord has a green ground wire; two hot wires, which are black and red; and a white neutral wire. Attach the neutral to the middle connector and the two hot wires to either end of the terminal.
In order to safely ground the machine the green ground wire must be securely connected to the dryer frame. There may be a screw on the frame where you can attach the ground

Need to know which is pos and neg. L1 or l2?

Pos and negative are DC voltage terms. And that pump is a 220 VAC pump. L1 and L2 are the two HOT terminals - so you will have 110 VAC on one leg and 110 VAC on the other leg and it doesn't really matter which HOT you put on which leg.

Hi just wondering about 240 volt. What is the black wire and what is the red one and green and yellow....Which one is L1- N- E

The black wire is Half of the 240 volts. Both the black and red wires carry 120 volts to make 240 volts. The green wire is going to be your grounding wire. The yellow wir is more than likely your neutral wire (although that goes against the electrical code). Tie in L1 to either black or red. Attach the yellow to n. I hae no idea what the E stands for. What color and how many wire are coming from the oven?

Does it matter if use 220 or 115... looks like i have 25 amp in the box with gfi.. need connect the wire to back of the motor.. outside i have the big circular 3 pronged connection to the outlet... do i...

220 VAC is more efficient ... so there is some cost savings in the money department. Volts X amp = watts generally ... there is still a savings because you will actually consume fewer watts at 220 (watts is what you are purchasing form the power company)

Wiring depends going to use 110 or 220? if 110 ... black is hot and goes to L1 ... white is nutral and goes to L1.

If 220 ... black is hot and goes to L1 - white is hot and goes to L2.

Your owner manual has a good picture and description of this.

In the plug ... 110 - neutral should go to the left slot.

Is your breaker 110 or 220 (single pole or double pole - one slot or two slots)

These voltages are not compatable!

I suggest you use this pump at 220.

Flotec 1/2 hp pump won't run. 124v line voltage. But L1 to L2 shows -00.1 to -00.4 Power supply line is 12/2 to a on/off switch and 14/2 to pump from switch. Distance to service is less than 100 feet

With your volt meter, check the voltage at the circuit breaker or fuse to the neutral bar. If you have 120 volts there, then go to the switch and check the 12/2 hot wire to the neutral wire, if you have 120 volts, then check the 14/2 hot wire on the switch to the neutral wire.

if you have voltage going into the switch and existing the switch, then check all the connections between the switch and the pump.

When you're testing for voltage, do not test the hot wire to ground. You have to make sure that the neutral wire is not broken someplace in the circuit

Which wires go to L1 and L2 on a pool motor HP1.5

I think yours is a 220 V AC pump ... L1 would be the "black" wire and L2 would be the "red" wire. Please check your motor documentation to confirm this.

Alternatively, this pump can run on 110 V ... again, please check your documentation.

I would expect you have 12/ 2 with ground wire coming from your distribution panel to this pump. The wires are now Black and White and Bare or green. You can use this wire for 110 or 220 depending on whether you use a single pole or double pole breaker. The #12 wire should be good for 20 amps at 110. If you do the 220 thing, the white wire becomes "red" and connects to the other pole of a double pole breaker (black connecting to the first pole).

The load imposed by the pump on the circuit is well with in the capability of the #12 wire as long as this is a dedicated circuit.

I hope I have not confused. If I missed the mark on this, please post a comment to your question and I will tru again.

Problems wiring Flotec sprinkler pump

L1- L2 doesn't care if blk or red. Make sure there is 220vac (240vac) on the supply wires. If there is there is something amiss with the pump. Eric
