D/L the file and install..simple..Just dont touch anything while its installing as it might not boot again.

SOURCE: HOW I CAN RESET MY GIGABYTE G31 MOTHERBOARD BIOS

Remove the CMOS battery in the motherboard for some time and then plug it again the bios will be reset to factory defaults with no password. CMOS battery is like a coin in the motherboard with positive sign (+) in the upper side.

OR

In the motherboard there is a bios reset jumper, it has three metal with two of them was use by the jumpers as the default, just move the jumper place it occupying the third metal point leaving the first. wait for about 1 min then return to the original setting occupying the 1st point, turn the unit on and CMOS will be cleared off.

Try using a PS2 keyboard or a USB keyboard with USB-PS2 adapter.
USB port may be disabled at BIOS.

your video card will install on mother board it eather doesnt support it or its drivers in it are to old.

Why do you think that you need to roll-back?
Each BIOS-update typically is 95% the "same" as the previous, so it's strange that the "new" 5% could be causing a problem.
What has stopped working?

Did you use the BIOS-update utility to create a 'backup' of the old BIOS? If so, re-flash with that code.

If not, look at the web-site from where you got the updated BIOS;
perhaps, it also offers back-level versions of the BIOS.
Re-flash your BIOS, with the older code.

The G31-M7 TE MB has a intergrated sound chip.
Enter the bios. Open Chipset. Open South Bridge configuration. Find Audio controller. This should be set to [Azalia] Save and exit the bios.
Next check JAUDIOF1: found on page 14. If you are not going to use the cases front audio and mic than there should be a two pin jumper covering pins
5 & 6 and pins 9 & 10. If you're case supports front audio / mic ports, (You can not use the front audio ports and the rear audio ports at the same). time). Once everything above is set, got to Biostar and download the audio driver software;

If you still have a problem with you're sound. Explain any actions you have taken.

I am using g31 mb my front audio not working, but back audio working fine. i checked cable and everything but same problem.

Hi

Check your bios settings for any front panel port settings and make sure it is enable.

Also check for the audio jumper settings. Refer to the motherboard manual.

Certainly you can, but it has to be told to do so by setting the BIOS appropriately & also the amount of RAM you are using, especially if your OS is VISTA................................sodeep
