How to change Brother compal galaxie 870 sewing machine needle default that starts on the left to default to the middle

Some machines have the left setting as the default. Those machines have the bobbin case that is installed from the left side of the machine. For most purposes, this default cannot be changed to center. Machines that have the bobbin case installed from the front of the machine generally have the needle center default position. However, it appears to be a newer model machine (post 1970), so there is a good chance your machine has a needle position setting.

Needle shaft stuck. Machine won't work.

It's possible that you have threads wound somewhere inside the machine. Likely places are the tension unit and near the hand wheel.

I was trying to sew fleece and the machine started jamming and I cleaned out the bobbin casing and also changed the needle and it still jams.

correct needle insertion is mandatory for the proper use of the sewing machine. Raise the needle bar to the highest position, then loosen the clamp screw to remove the old needle. place the new needle in the clamp with the flat side of the needle facing the back of the machine. or if your using a round needle the groove in the needle should face away from the shaft.push the needle all the way up to thestop or as far as it will go & then tighten the screw

also if the thread comes off the thread take up lever it will cause the machine to jam up-i've had that happen more times than I can count

also clean under the needle plate for lint

Singer 8280 will not zig zag

If your machine has been sitting and not being used, try oil and taking a hair dryer to your needle shaft. This may free it up so that you can adjust your width and length. Another thing could be that your needle shaft is bent. I hope that the hair dryer does the trick for you.

Janome SD-2014 sewing machine dogs fails to operate in reverse

The grease has hardened and that is what makes it not work. You need to remove the spring and clean all the old grease off it. You can put new grease on if you want but it isn't necessary. The machine should be lubricated with a good quality sewing machine oil(not 3 in 1). You need to oil any place that moves and rubs, This includes the ends of each shaft, the needle bar and the cinnecting links that drive the needle bar. Nothing is permanently lubricated.. you'll find this machine will run much smoother and quieter with fresh lubrication. As a matter of fact, if you use the machine a lot, it should be lubricated once a year and never less thanonce every 5 years.
One more thing. If it is on the main shaft that it has hardened you can spray it with a mixture of fantastic, water and some ammonia. Free it up and give it a light shot of oil.
