Anyone else getting server error on Cobra Homebase when opening it?

Had the same issue. After weeks, and 2 calls to Cobra later w/o success, it clicked in my head...router firewall!

Temporarily change your firewall settings to minimum security and you should see the server error disappear and server available show up in Cobra HomeBase. Download what you wish to update and then reset your router firewall to the security level you had it on originally.

Trying to map update new cobra 6500

1- You need to install cobras update software which is available at their website.
2- Seem to remember that you had to register the unit with cobra otherwise the software would never work. (Might be in error on that though)

Once that is done it should update with no problem.

Map udate for cobra gps server error

Are you using the Cobra HomeBase software? You can download it from the link below Cobra HomeBase If you are using the software, it sounds like there was a temporary problem with the servers Cobra uses. Try update again.

Cobra 29 ltd when powered up error Y can anyone help me

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Often an error code "Y" would indicate test/diagnostic result of the antenna. A communication equipment thus equipped would test the SWR and display this error code if:
  • no antenna detected; or
  • SWR of antenna is way too high.
Although am not familiar with the version of a Cobra 29LTD with this type of display. Could you pls post back the exact model of the radio, normally there would be two (2) more letters after the LTD something like Cobra 29LTD BT.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.
