Question about Garden
I replaced pressure gun and hose assembly. I also rebuilt the RMW pump with 6 new check valves with brass seats. I inspected the unloader valve and it seemed fine. The pump seemed to have some calcium deposits so I checked and cleaned all the orifices I could. The EZ start ball was stuck upon inspection so I freed that up. After reassembly the trigger being squeezed allows water to flow through nozzle but upon start up of pump, the engine bogs forcing me to shut it down after 3 seconds. The water pressure never changes even after start up. Is the unloader clogged or faulty?
Rebuilding the pump is not easy. Did you use the right seal drivers? Lube the seals when you installed them? Use a torque wrench? But a valve in backwards?

Testimonial: "Hey, Brad thanks for your comment on the husky pressure washer. This is the first time I have looked inside of a pressure washer pump, However, I am an industrial maintenance technician and have rebuilt many types of positive displacement pumps over the years and dealt with many types of configurations. During the rebuild I cleaned the pump and seated the check valves firmly with a light coat of oil. I am thinking that the unloader is not performing properly and redirecting the flow back to the inlet side of the pump but when I checked the spring and orings on unloader it checked OK. It is possible the unloader seat is worn. One thing I noticed is I could remove the EZ start ball and spring and it wouldn't stall motor in this condition but still know pressure change from nozzle......I am still curious as to the solution but these pumps have terrible reviews and aren't worth sinking any more cash into it. I ordered a cheap Himore pump that will serve as a replacement pump. Thanks for your advice."

Disassemble and clean the carb. If it ran briefly with the starer fluid then gasoline is not coming through the carb.

I have a similar problem and diagnosed it to be a problem with the gun. I spoke to a technician that services this pressure washer and he walked me through all the diagnostic steps. The pump is working because there is pressure being built up and the gun sort of works because you can get water out before the washer is started. The technician said that the mechanism inside the gun is either clogged or broken. I am going to Home Depot or Lowes to purchase a new gun and will try it tonight. Guns are only about $30-40. He said generic is fine as long as the thread matches and PSI is in range. Good luck!

Hi, Karcher calls the unloader valve a spill valve,
this is a link to a full drawing/parts listing , and your fault description might well be a sticking /seized unloader(spill ) valve hope this helps
the part number is on page 9 of the drawing
spill valve 45910400
hope this helps , we usually use some good quality silicone grease to lube the valve ,
