Question about Kenmore Dishwashers
We us the high temp "pots" setting. My dishwasher has been leaving a light gritty residue on the dishes. We have run cleaners a few times to no avail. Today I noticed the lower arm has a knob like a screw on top center and it looks broke. the lower unit wobbles. Everything seems to wash except as noted and the unit drains fine. Looking for some suggestions and is this something I can repair as a tradesmen but not an appliance repairman?
It will help if you can provide the model number of the kenmore dishwasher. I would try and take the wash arms out and clean them under running tap water. If the residue continues to appear then confirm if the problem is only with the bottom drawer or top drawer as well. Keep a couple of cups on the bottom shelf right side up and check the quality of water in these once dishwasher has drained at end of cycle. Also sometimes if the Rinse aid quantity is low it can lead to residue on glassware.

Most cleaning problems are caused by the dishwasher not getting enough water. It could be cause of the switch level, which control water level in the tub. The switch level is usually a diaphragm device with a small clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. I am not familiar with your machine, but if you will open the rear panel you will find it easily. Be aware you should discoonect the power cable !!! Clear the tube (attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub) from any obstruction. In case it will not solve the problem, you should replace the switch. Good luck !

the is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. it actually filters the water going into your dishwasher and leaves your dishes spot free. after the first load i was amazed that the white film was gone and my dishes were sparkling. you can get it at www.dishwasherfilter.com.

it could be due to Not filling enough water or food chopper broke or food chopper filter screen clogged.
Check water level:
Run the DW and wait for the main wash to start (water will fill. pause then complete fill) The water should be no more than 1/4 inch below the heating element. If not there..replace water inlet valve.
check the food chopper:
Remove lower spray arm and rear water supply tube to upper spray arm.
. Remove torx screws that secure the sump cover. Remove primary filter. Remove food chopper cover to expose the chopper assembly. Inspect for breakage or blockage.
