Question about Sewing Machines
Do they make an attachment for a model 5528 where you can use a spool of thread for bobbin instead of that small one it comes with so i dont run out before the top spool dose
No, sewing machines that use bobbins don't have an adapter like that. It would be difficult to get the bottom tension right working off the spool. The best solution is to fill several bobbins in your thread color before starting to sew. Then when you run out, swap in a new bobbin.
Some advanced machines will warn you when the bobbin runs low. (I've seen the feature on the machines with touch-screens.)
I wish that I had better news for you. A serger might be a an option to consider. They don't use a bobbin and can be used for some sewing projects. You can still run out of thread on one cone before the others run out. (Those machines use 3-4 threads at a time for the basic stitches. The knife can be lowered if you don't want to trim your fabric while stitching.)
(I've got a Singer Touch and Sew and usually don't run out of bobbin during a seam. I will swap bobbins when they are still 1/4 full at times if I get concerned about the bobbin running out.)

You ought to have a 3 mth warantee with this used machine, take it back to the dealer and have them fix this problem...in Australia, consumer law provides that the sale of goods requires that they are "fit for their intended purpose".....there is almost certainly a similar provision where you are........get it remedied soon, as a feature that has not worked since you purchased ....perhaps calling first to ensure you are able to meet with the service person to explain.
I would not recommend you open it yourself until the dealer has looked at it.
If they cannot fix it, ask for replacement or money back.

If you turn the handwheel, can you see a metal ring rotating around the outer edge of the bobbin case? If not rotating, broken gear or timing belt off.
If that ring is turning, remove the needle plate and bobbin case. As this ring now rotates, you will a finger on the ring that will pass behind the needle from right to left and it should catch the thread from the eye of the needle. If this finger, the "hook" passes above the eye, you have a timing problem.
Let me know.
