Sorry, best I can tell you is to hold the pieces together and measure the holes both diameter and length. Then go to either your big box or local hardware store and buy the screws and nuts and washers. Of course the screws need to be longer than the holes and purchase Stop nuts (nyloc nuts) so they don't come loose by themselves.

Missing screws

Go to a Westlake or Ace hardware.
they have a huge selection of screws.
the ones you want are metric/machine screws.
11/2" and 3/4", get some washers to go with.

Need new screws

Just a suggestion, the way I'd do it is to get a screw that isn't missing, go to either Lowes or Home Depot and see if they can get you a screw that is the closest match.

If you have no screws, measure the hole for the screw in the crib. Take a pencil, skewer, or anything thin and mark the depth of the hole to determine how long of a screw you need; and also the width of the hole itself. Again, at either store, find the screw that best fits. Since it is a crib and you do want it to be sturdy, go for a thick screw. It's ok if its just a tiny bit wider because then it will grip better. Be careful not to get it too big as it could crack the wood.

Good luck and please rate my solution accordingly.

Don

Kinderkraft crib model 710

On the bottom of the front rail that drops (the drop rail), there are two plastic tension pieces (one at either end) that engage the two fixed, bottom rail slider hardware (the long, narrow pieces screwed top-and-bottom into the lower, inside portion of the tall, upright crib ends). These tension pieces are spring loaded, and the outer edge of each one rides along the outside (i.e., the parent's side) of the two bottom metal rail guides. Their purpose is to supply outward pressure against the lower part of the drop rail - that's what you push against when you press your lower leg upon the bottom of the drop side of the crib to lower it. They insure that when up, the drop side locks safely into place. I suspect these tension pieces are your problem. It sounds like they are improperly installed. Good luck.

How to convert crib to bed

I have the opposite problem - I can put it together as a toddler bed. The trick with that is that you put one of the long screws through both the hole at the SHORT end of the toddler bed side AND the metal flange from the springs into that end of the crib. The other long screw goes through the raised end of the toddler side into the end of the crib - where the child's head would be.

Is there supposed to be a plastic piece at the top of both ends of the crib on the side that does NOT go up and down? I can't seem to figure out how to put the crib side on.
