Question about Maytag Neptune MDE4000 Electric Dryer
Changed from a 3 prong to a 4 prong plug. Connected the ground wrong now will not turn on. suspect I shorted a circuit board any ideas?
Yes. I did the same thing. It cost me a new timer and circuit board. However, I got my replacement parts from a local used appliance dealer, so I paid " not much".
If you decide to do the same, find your replacement part numbers on "Sears Parts" by your model number, and then type the part numbers into e-bay where you can get good deals.
I do often. Be blessed.

easy enough, black and red go to either end terminal behind dryer(makes no difference which, the white MUST go to the center terminal, and teh sreen ground must be hoooked to the ground strap, probalby already a green wire screwed there already as well

red and black wires go to outside screws ..white goes to middle screw..lift green ground wire from screw in cabinet back and either tape off or connect to middle screw on connector ..green wire on cord goes in it's place

black and red wire, will hook to either end of terminal posts, as long as the white wire connects to the center post. the green wirewill then atach to the cabinet of the unit,( usually a green ground screw just outside the termoal box anyhow!

Your dryer block has 3 terminals . On your cord , put the white in the center terminal of your dryer block , red and black on either side ( makes no difference ) , and the green to the ground screw or the screw which holds the cover plate on .
