Will it hurt to replace the 20 amp fuse in my cigarette liter to a 25 amp it keeps blowing fuses

I am wondering if the fuse blows instantly or whether it lasts a while?

Fuse ratings for cars are usually mean or average values so a 20 amp fuse needs roughly 40 amps to cause it to instantly fail. I have not heard of a cigarette lighter needing that much current so I guess there is a fault that should be located and cured before you have a fire.
Maybe it is the element that is faulty...

I think fitting a 25 amp fuse would be slightly foolish...

Mercury 1989 60 HP Outboard Motor manual to find gas to oil ratio

50:1 But if your doing mostly low rpm cruising (trolling) then you could reduce that a bit to 75:1 to help reduce smoke. If you do mostly mid to higher rpm cruising, then 50:1 (1 pint to 6 gallons. )
Or 200mls in 20 liters if your Canadian.

Cigarette lighter for 92 mercury grand marquis dose not work can not find fuse box

Theres a Black fuse box under the hood , on drivers side, that has fuses as well as the one inside under the dash. There will be a fuse diagram on the cover. It will more than likely be a 20 amp fuse. if no diagram you can purchase a fuse tester at your local parts store. some even cone with fuses. check the type of fuses it takes first and buy the assortment package they come with a tester. Believe it or no I use the fuses that actually light up when they blow. Makes it a hell of a lot easier to find which ones blown.

1992 gmc pickup keeps blowing heater fuses I replaced the blow motor and it keeps blowing

Have you replaced the blower resistor . some times they can cause the fuse to blow . You may need a muiltmeter to test the current draw on the blower motor circuit. the draw should be less then half of the rated fuse .( 20 amp fues draw is less then 10 amps) You did not say but does the blower work on high only or the lower speeds with out blowing the fuse ? if it does work on low or high with out blowing the fuse i would replace the blower resistor

Electric sliding doors blow fuses but will work for a while after yu renew the fuse

There are 3 fuses for the sliding doors if your vehicle has the left and right sliding doors. There are 2 fuses if your vehicle is equipped with the right side only. There is a 20 Amp fuse - this provides power for the Sliding Door Control Modules and a 40 Amp fuse for each door. The problem is an electrical overload on one of these fuses. If the 20 Amp fuse is blowing, it is probably the door module(s) or the wiring between the fuse and the door module causing the problem. If the 40 Amp fuse is blowing, the problem could be the door module, the door motor/transmission, or the wiring between the door module and the door motor.
