Question about Garden
I have a trimmer with the briggs and stratton 21032 engine, the pull rope starter has worn down on the interior and the teeth no longer engage the engine when pulled, ie no resistence occurs when pulling the starter cord, basically Im unsure of how to go about replacing this part, and what kind of price range a replacement or professional repair would fall in.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

With a flashlight, look into the area just in front of the pull rope. You'll see the fins on the flywheel. Turn the flywheel with a small screwdriver until you see a bracket mounted on it. There's is one on each side. While holding the flywheel still with another screwdriver, spray penatrating oil on each one and work them back and forth a few times. You'll feel them loosen up. They are spring loaded and should snap back into place. Hope you can understand this. Good luck.

My UT21546 has 2 springs, the regular recoil one and a what I'll call a anti kickback one. the top of the anti kickback spring kept coming unsecured and finally I just deleated it alltogther and screwed the 2 plates tightly togehter and the near new unit works better than new now.
