SOURCE: LG DLG 3788W not heating

can you look in one of the holes in the back and see if the inside glows orange after you turn it on? If it doesn't could be the igniter, if it does glow orange, clicks or clacks, and glows again 20-30 seconds later, click/clack and nothing, it's probably the gas valve. I'm going through the same thing with a new one and they had to order the valve and a new controller board in case it is bad too. If you are handy, have an electronic tester, and have the patience, go to http://136.166.4.200/contents/Laundry/DLG3788.htm for the service manual and disassembly instructions and see if you want to tackle the test flow for no heat. I just stumbled on the site.

SOURCE: New GE Profile Dryer makes intermittent loud squeeking or rubbing

Your drum may be out of round. The drum belt on the outside of the drum may be rubbing against the cabinet. When the cabinet heats up, the side walls of the cabinet may be bowing inward, thus making contact with the belt on the drum. This would explain why it is intermittant. When the heater turns off, the cabinet cools and the sides bow back out.

Thumping noise

Sounds like the tub is unbalanced from either a bearing/pulley suspension problem or the unit has broken something off in between the tub and outer portion of the unit before you get to the walled panels, and you are hearing a rubbing and thumping noise. This is not a typical DIY job since the entire back panel of the unit needs to be pulled off and diagnosed.

Loud Bank noise when Creda Vent dryer is in motion.

Unplug or disconnect power before disassembling the dryer.

Most likely the noise is coming from 1 of the 2 drum support rollers or the shaft. It also could be the blower wheel loose or rubbing the blower housing. There is also a belt and belt idler assembly that could be making the noise.

Dryer shuts off quickly

The problem could be with the thermostats...or maybe the motor.
It would be wise to check those out first.
The thermostats are normally located in the air tube from the blower to the drum, this is where the heating coil in normally located also.
Hope this helps

You don't, it is gas dryer, so I advise you to get a authorized gas technician to look at your unit.
Chances are the blower assembly is out of whack, maybe the motor is off its brackets.
