My garmin 2360lmt will not turn off and the screen is frozen

It will not turn off or allow me to push the ok for the map updates

SOURCE: Garmin is frozen on, and will not respond.

Have you tried resetting the unit? Remove the faceplate and press the reset button on the right side of the unit. This may help.

The Garmin Streetpilot C340 is discontinued, so there isn't much support for it. You can find some updates at

But no free map updates.

Asmany as there are FREE dinners Updates are not free, unless you paid full price for it when you bought it. Free upgrades are a deceptive myth. If you get a free uograde its usually minor and was included in the price of the pack.

Update your unit using Garmin Webupdater. The latest updated firmware allows the units to read all sd/microsd cards You can download garmin webupdater from here: http://www8.garmin.com/products/webupdater/howtoinstall.jsp

Download install and run the program and follow the on screen prompts to update your unit.

Hi tkfranks331,

Press the power key and hold it if the screen of your Zumo is frozen. Keep holding the power key while pressing the key that has a plus symbol ("+") on it. This will reset your device and unfreeze the screen. You can also try calibrating the screen by pressing the power key for one full minute.

If this does not work, please follow these steps.

1. Update the internal disk software. Download and install WebUpdater on the computer. Please visit this link to download the WebUpdater.

2. Open WebUpdater on the computer.

3. Connect the Zumo 550 to the computer with its USB cable.

4. WebUpdater will automatically search for updates.

5. Follow the prompts to download any pertinent updates for the Zumo 550.

Yesterday, I purchased a Garmin Nuvi 2360LMT for my grandfather. I have read the instructions on how to register it but now, I have the usb connected to the computer and the Garmin, my computer will not...

Here is what you need to do to update the map your Garmi nuvi 2360lmt; first make sure the unit is fully charged, then go to the Garmin web site and register your product. Next download Garmin Updater and connect your nuvi with a USB cable directly to your computer and not thru a USB hub. I would also try a different usb port. See if it show up in Computer or My computer in Windows 7/Vista or XP.
Let the update go directly to the GPS and not a folder. It will take a few hours even with a fast internet connection. When done follow the instructions on your screen. I have attached a link to the Garmin site. Thanks for using FixYa

Garmin froze with a "Map Update Notice" the screen

The unit isn't frozen. If you tap the power button you will hear it beep and change screens. What has happened is your touchscreen has failed. This is a common problem. Your touchscreen needs replaced. If you want some troubleshooting info, please see this link. There is just too much info to retype here:

The unit will need to be sent in for replacement. First try a Firmware update using Garmin Webupdater. Its a free download from www.garmin.com If that doesn't work contact your dealer.

If the reset didn't work then you need to send it in for repair or exchange, Garmin has a really resonable program to do this.
