Question about Dewalt 3800 PSI Pressure Washer
This is the second 3800 dewalt in 2wks I have made sure its getting at least 5gpm by timing 5gal bucket fill over 5gallons in under 40seconds and made sure pump was full before startup it worked great for about 1 hr then it did the same as the last one when trigger is pulled it had a 30 to 45 second Delay now its longer could this be a bad run on pumps BTW it has a AAA pump not a cat thanks Joe.
It's the gas cap. The cap won't vent and it causes a vacuum in the tank and won't let fuel get to the carb. Crack the gas cap open enough to let some air in and run it like that. If it solves your problems then you can get a new cap cheep. I had the same problem with mine.

You checked the output to measure 5 GPM? How are you feeding that unit? What are you using for detergent? Have you adjusted the bypass valve?

check to see how hot the water can be, ti should be on the unit or in your book. also your amps should be no less than 15amp, long core can over heat the motor. if your unit can't handle hot water it will melt the valves

SOURCE: low pressure
hi some valves at cat pumps need a 100 psi pressure to open and close correct. when there is air in the pump the valves wil not open and close till air is bleeded. take of highpressure hose, open watertap and bleed pump till no more air comes out. reconnect all hoses and try again. if there is no more air in the pump and its still not working, i should think its the pump.

If the engine turns rather freely and not hindered by malfunction of pump, then it should start. Since you are going to rebuild pump, you should just remove the pump from the engine now and set it on the work bench to prevent any further damage. It is a good idea to test engine before you spend any money on the pump. Dewalt service center has all the parts lists for your machine, however you should look up the model number of the pump itself (stamped / tagged on body of pump) and look for more information from mfg. web site. Good luci
