Kodak dvd player will only play audio (classicDVD42S)

My nieces player will only play audio on my recorded discs, but works fine on manufactured ones. Is there a setting to get into to enable or disable?

SOURCE: No audio with CD/DVD but works fine with aux and FM

Check the cable between the media centre and bass module for signs of damage (if its buried in the wall / under the floor and you can't check it, assume it could be damaged).

however, this sounds like a fault with the Digital Analogue Converter - this coverts the digital audio on a disc to analogue information the amplifer can use to produce sound. Contact your retailer for exchange / repair.....

First try running a CD/DVD player cleaner disc thru the unit, you can find them at Walmart, Target, etc. Get one that uses fluid. If your lucky, it's just dusty and needed cleaned. If it's still inoperative, you need to send it to Bose for service. They will swap out the transport for a new one and you will get many more years of service out of it. Just occasionally clean it. The repair will probably run 100-150. You can call Bose support for average pricing for transport repair and they should give you at least a ball park estimate. Hope this helps

SOURCE: everytime i play dvd player it always says "no disc"

The first thing to try would be to clean the unit. If you don't have a DVD player cleaner you can get them at Walmart, Target, or any electronics store. Get one that uses fluid. run it thru a couple times and hopefully all will be well. If not, you need to send it out for service. They will just replace the transport. Generally at a cost of 100 to 150 and two weeks or so for turn around time. Hope this helps

SOURCE: When tv is wired to

When you say disk will not play I assume the BRD player does not start playing.

If the Blue ray unit does not start at all and stays in stand by , then the HDMI cable you are using to connect to TV, or HDMI port on TV may be defective.
Try replacing cable and swapping HDMI ports.

Could you help me with my playback issues? (Already contacted LG, with no avail)

It's very possible from your description that the recording function was defective from the beginning and never worked, but here's what to try now to find out if it is just a technical issue in the way you have been doing it, or if the machine is defective. Use a DVD+R disc (not -R or -RW). Set to SP mode (it may be there already by default). The Initialize menu should appear; select OK and press Enter and it should initialize to Video mode. Don't use any other initialization options. Go ahead and record something. After you make your recording, Finalize the disc (this function is under the Disc Settings menu). Then see if it will play back on this machine or on another DVD player; a properly initialized and finalized DVD+R disc should work on any standard DVD player. If it doesn't and still says Unrecognizable disc or something like that then your unit's recording function is bad and probably has been from day 1 but unfortunately it will be too late to make a warranty claim with LG.

DVD will not play just get a blue plus sign coming down the display after th DVD sign graphic. TV screen shows digital and no disc. Any ideas lease?

is it a burned disk? if so your dvd player might not be able to play that type of dvd... i know sometimes also scratched ones won't play at all as well... of course also make sure everything is plugged in correctly and if it does this with more different dvds then there's something wrong with the player itself... which i hope is not the case as those are very difficult to fix yourself

JVC TH-C30 dvd movies skip

Check your formatting on the DVD recorder, you need to finalize the disk to be playable on "any" player. That should solve the issue. Your JVC is looking for specific code as it reads the disc, when it's missing or not understood by your JVC it will either stop play or skip over it's interperated missing info. Hope this helps

Dvd player wont play movies recorded by my friends. what is the problem?

Not all DVD players can play DVDR or DVDRW discs (writable DVDs) these players are however very inexpensive. Usually the ones that say they will play windows media file will work, but not always. See if you can find one that says it will play DVDR or DVDRW discs.

Bose 3 2 1 Playing DVD-Recordable disks

Sorry, but many of the older ones are not made to play the recordable disc's. There is no workaround for it or any upgrade. When DVD players first came out, it was rare to get one that played recordables because the recordable disc's were not being sold, or they were still new to the market and not yet popular enough for the manufacturers to consider them an essential feature. In fact, there are still some DVD players being manufactured today that will not play them, about 5% to 10% of new ones today.

Before performing any operations, make sure of the following: ? Check the connection with the TV. ? Turn on the TV and select the correct input on the TV to view the pictures or on-screen indications on the TV screen. ? For DVD playback, you can change the Setup menu setting to your preference menu... Alos, make sure thay the system and disc region code numbers are incompatible: The following discs cannot be played back: ? DVD-Audio, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-ROM, CD-I, (CD-I Ready), Photo CD, etc. Playing back these discs will generate noise and damage the speakers. * Note on Region Code DVD players and DVD Video discs have their own Region Code numbers.
