Gas oven range

I changed the spark module (refurbished) on my GE gas range and now have sparks and flammes everywhere. However inside the oven the spark ignitor keeps firing eventhough the main burner is on. How do I stop that spark from coming out? Thank you Philippe

The flame acts as a conductor when the burner is on. Clean the burner and make sure it's got good grounding. Clean the ignitor too. Re-position the ignitor to make sure it is inside the flame.

Hi i have a kemore gas range that the bake ingiter or broil won`t

The igniter in the oven does not spark. It heats up and glows red hot until enough current opens the safety gas valve to the burner. It is not associated with the stovetop burners. Replace the oven igniter itself.

if you are not hearing the faintest sound of clicking / sparking you could have a bad spark module or even bad burner switches i doubt that all switches went bad at the same time but its possible unplug oven check wireing to switches and spark module if you pull your burner knob off thats the switch starring at you follow wires and check for any loose connections

GE STOVE MODEL JGBS15GE

Often times you will have problems with the gas thermostat and not necessarily with the safety valve. Once you have lit the pilot light, turn the oven knob to any temperature. The pilot light should get bigger in size of flame. If not, the thermostat that controls the oven must be replaced. If the pilot light does get bigger, but the stove does not ignite, it is the safety valve.

HELLO MR BEAN

These problems are difficult to diagnose sometimes without being there to actually see what is going on. Now...let me see if I can remember all of this. You replaced the spark module and have a spark at each burner now. You also checked for gas leaks and didn't find any. Now, you're telling me that the oven isn't working? Most oven igniters I'm familiar with are the glow bar type. Which means they don't spark at all. They glow to a certain current potential (roughly 2.7 to 3.3 amps) before the gas valve is opened and begins to flow. Once gas flow is achieved, the igniter ignites the gas. Now, when these igniters get old, they become weak and will not provide enough current to open the gas valve, or, they take a long time to ignite. If this is your case, then you need to replace the oven igniter. Does this help you? PS Keep in mind, some ovens have two separate igniters. One for the broiler and one for bake. Does the broil function work? If so, the oven switch is good.

Igniters won't turn on & unwanted flammes

You say you have no sparks coming from your gas range, but your rear burner is lighting. That doesn't quite make sense. If some of your burners are lighting, then the problem can't be with the spark module. The spark module sends a spark to ALL the igniters at the same time. That is, EACH burner switch, when turned to ignite, will cause a spark to go to ALL the burner igniters at the same time. Just watch the next time you turn one of your burner switches on, and you'll see a spark at all the burners simultaneously. This is normal. I suspect that you have a bad igniter switch or wiring harness. For example, if you have a front burner that won't light, but WILL light when you turn on another burner, the spark is being provided by a working burner switch. This is also normal. Now, am I assuming that your back burner will not light properly, but will light if you use the front burner? If so, the burner switch for the rear burner is probably bad, or the wiring harness has a break somewhere. Now...if you have no sparks, as you say, but randomly a burner will light, then I would suspect a bad spark module. I hope I'm not confusing you here. In a nutshell: One burner doesn't work, but all others do - bad burner switch, or wiring harness. No burners light, or light randomly - spark module. I hope this helps you.
