Question about Gateway Computers & Internet
I spent 3 hours looking for the solution, refreshing the system (windows 8 feature) disabling and enabling network card (it shows that it is working properly) It seems that the 'FN' button it's "on" all the time, because I pressed "f3" and you toggle from 'Airplane on/off' without pressing 'FN' button, that might be the problem...I checked the manual, there's no key to turn "on/off" the 'FN' button

SOURCE: Function Key Problem
your keyboard driver may be corrupt, go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager and go down list to keyboards, click '+' sign, right click on your keyboard and select uninstal. Restart your notebook and the keyboard and drivers will be reinstalled automatically and should be as normal, but check for any updated drivers at Sony:- http://www.vaio-link.com/downloads/preinstalled/preinstalled.asp?site=voe_en_GB_cons&m=2303

You can try a system restore back to a point you remember it working, but most likely you will have to do a bios flash or an operating system repair with your recovery or operating system disc.

I had the exact same problem and went through the same steps that he did. It was only when I searched for a physical wireless switch (on the left side of my Dell D630) that the problem was solved. I didn't even know it was there and must have inadvertently knocked into the off position.
